With bereavement and grief, we are all different … and yet the same. After the death of my wife, I learned to appreciate all relationships, even those hellos on buses, and views out of the window. In the end, life seems to be about love and kindness.

That doesn't mean these systems do everything well, but they do a lot well

Is anyone checking in on Nick Ferrari? It must be so traumatic for him, having to listen to harrowing tales of people not having their wallet stolen on the Tube, and coming out of their houses to find - other people! - on the footpath.

Any of the London horde routes at rush-hour have thousands of people who look like their souls have been shredded. Just masses of people all walking along doing their best to avoid eye contact.

I know some of our politicians are a bit out of touch but you'd think they'd at least bluff it better.

For the FES, I wrote a short brief about how mainstream party strategies have fueled far-right success. They move toward more anti-immigration positions to win voters back. This does not work, but shifts public opinion to the right. Parties then react to shifts in public opinion. A vicious cycle.
