I've used all 10 of my sick leave days in the space of 4 months... and I work part-time. And even then I've worked from home during a lot of my sickness.
And the Govt wants to pro-rata sick days? Most part-timers are parents or vulnerable workers.

A few days ago a driver didn't see me & failed to stop at a roadabout, hitting me and knocking me off my bike. Luckily I got out fairly unscatched - a sore bum & shoulder, bent derailleur on my bike. Reading @juliefairey.bsky.social article was sobering. thespinoff.co.nz/society/08-0...

"Entry-level homes" -- 3 of the 5 have indications around $900k-$1m. One has no estimate in the article, but is headlined "To Do-Up or To Demolish?" on its listing page.

The cheap one is a ~$700 2brm unit on a cross-lease.

Just finished listening to The House of My Mother by Shari Franke on audiobook (#AucklandLibraries have it). I didn't know of this family before hand, but wow this was quite an intense story of growing up in a (religious) family vlogging household. Kids aren't content! #BookSky

So cool my toddler now knows the city better than me, thanks to spending time with his apartment dwelling Mémé. As a result, today he showed me a pocket park I had never seen before. The one with the "silly seesaws" aka Hobson Wharf pocket park.

Really surprised to see wheel benders in Downtown out the Maritime Museum. Was fully expecting to see Locky Docks or at least bigger/higher bike racks. It's very challenging to lock an ebike to these (hence I reversed in and took the end spot).
