When I wrote THE VERDIGRIS PAWN I was thinking the part where people are made to surrender their children into service for the rich was pure fantasy

Alas…

File this under 2 Birds

I saw someone suggest on another platform that Stephen Colbert shld move to PBS- you can get Passport streaming service for as little as $5/month
Get the Daily Show to move too and PBS’s funding hole might just get plugged

What do you think @colbertlateshow.bsky.social ?

A story about Stephen Colbert I’ve never shared before. Years ago I was hospitalized for a month. One of toughest things I ever had to
do. Confined, monitored, my health a mystery with no solution, cycling through roommates & their families who needed miracles, or would go off to surgery & vanish…

Stephen Colbert doesn’t need CBS anyway. Wherever he ends up, people are going to watch him even harder now. All CBS did was solidify the fact that they’ll be know until the end of time as just another spineless corporation that couldn’t do the right thing.

Hello Development folks!
#movierights
#KidLitChat @alysawishingrad.bsky.social's Verdigris Pawn, or her Between Monsters and Marvels would be so good. Really pertinent themes. Verdigris Pawn I can see live action, and Between Monsters & Marvels created similar to The Wild Robot (but maybe a series?)
TOPIC: What are some recent #kidlit books you think should get the full on movie treatment (from #picturebooks to #ya)? Which recent book-to-film adaptations have you loved? Do you 'cast' your work when you're creating it? And... heck... let's have some popcorn and have us a #kidlitchat!

It’s almost like the dude can’t believe anyone would say no to him, so instead of backing off, or, I don’t know, dropping out of the race, his response is “You couldn’t possible have meant to reject me.”
