This is disrespectful and a flat out lie that further stigmatizes autism. It’s not a virus or a disease - it’s a neurological condition with a wide spectrum. Many Americans with autism work, pay taxes, and are living happy and healthy lives.

This is horrible to post, but I may as well post it. We are essentially shutting down research operations in my group, which is focused on treatments for pediatric brain cancer. I’m a well funded investigator, and there’s no choice. Science can’t function without the stability of NIH

Fact check - rates of autism were 1 in 150, not 1 in 10,000!

This morning Uganda announced a new Ebola outbreak.

The last time there was an Ebola outbreak in Uganda, the CDC worked with the WHO on helping end it.

But now, the CDC can’t even talk to the WHO.

I repeat, again and again, this is pure stupidity that will only hurt us.

Agree! We need to all call our senators about RFK Jr’s confirmation, especially those of us in health care.
If I can call these two yahoos you can call your senators and tell them to oppose RFK Jr.’s confirmation.

Please read this very excellent thread by one of the smartest folks i have met in social @dwillner.bsky.social over these many years.
Folks are mostly missing the forest for the trees re: the recent Meta announcement. Specifically, the focus on the move from fact checking to community notes. There two different changes that are a much bigger deal that have received less focus. 🧵 1/11

While we cannot pretend to be shocked by Trump’s statements this morning, we must denounce them.

The deportation of American citizens — CHILDREN — should be an unspeakable atrocity, but in the era of Trump 2.0 the safety of every child is in peril.
