everyone's confused, yelling 'why would the Dems cave now???' it's because a few of them had a bad time at the airport and they want the airport slaves to go back to work so plane fly good again

I was feeling down about my failure to make certain changes in my life this year, but I realized I did do the specific things I decided to try instead of killing myself last year:
- got some therapy and other supports, seeking out more
- got ADHD meds
- started HRT
so I'm good actually. good year

particularly losing my mind at the 1-2 step of reducing money for tree planting so we can invest in carbon capture tech instead. like what do they think trees do??? hello?????
meanwhile in Canada, the Liberals have put out the most Abundance-brained budget a banker could ever dream of: cutting 40,000 public jobs, $82b to the military, lower corporate taxes, more fossil fuel extraction, possibly no emissions cap, planting fewer trees, $1b for AI, and cutting immigration

LNG Canada offered thousands of dollars to a Kitimat, B.C., resident to temporarily “relocate” due to flaring and noise from the company's gas liquefaction and export facility. The resident would also have to agree not to bring future legal claims about property damage.

Very incisive points and if I may, I would add that I think for some people, there's an emotional component of feeling this need to jealously guard the identities, communities, and spaces that they have found a sense of safety in. Surrounded by violence and erasure, there can be enourmous pressure
For folks wondering about the thought process behind this, it's downstream of "the gender binary is Western and colonial", "non-Western societies were precolonial gender-expansive playgrounds", and "transsexuality is a Western phenomenon, it's imperialist to say third-worlders are trans" and such.
One thing about the "transsexual" discourse that cyclically sweeps through queer Bsky circles:
For some reason, every time we argue here about the relation of transition to trans identity, people forget that "transition is regressive and binary" is a legitimately held position by a lot of queers.
