They/Them. 30 something queer cat parent and horror obsessive. I sometimes write spooky things: WE CAN ALWAYS TELL and WYRD WEREWOLF WRANGLER. Featured in Grim & Gilded and the Headwaters Creative Arts Magazine.
My first adult novel was Interview with the Vampire and it made me gay
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

What movie villain is a horrible "person," but an absolute joy to watch on screen?

Guillermo del Toro LOVES to fuck up an old man's face*

*see Pan's Labyrinth, Crimson Peak, Nightmare Alley...
“GDT makes cute monster movies”

*fascist caves in an old man’s face in an unbroken shot*

I don't really get all the hate for the Byron quote at the end of Frankenstein. Seems like it exactly encapsulates the message del Toro was trying to convey. But it may be that it just resonated with me a lot because it kinda describes my life right now.

Once you get a chance to see Nightmare Alley (2021) in black and white it's honestly kinda astonishing how ass it looks in color.

Probably my favorite little detail in del Toro's Frankenstein is Victor's cunty little red gloves. A great visual metaphor for the blood on his hands.

I'm starting to think I might not even play GTA VI when it finally comes out because fuck their evil ass company and fuck waiting over a decade for a damn game.

You absolutely know they had sex in those costumes. Pasolini knew what he was talking about in Salò
Hillary was right. Deplorable.

Happy 40th anniversary to Anne Rice's "The Vampire Lestat," published on October 31, 1985. Rice's 2nd vampire novel, it turned Lestat from villain to glamorous antihero, & started her Vampire Chronicles in earnest. Fun fact; the book's big finale takes place on publication day, Halloween night, 1985

You know Microsoft Word and Google Docs both come with spell checkers? You don't need to murder the planet with AI for this. Also there's this amazing thing known as a dictionary - believe it or not, they do still exist.

Good God the brainwashing sequence in The Parallax View is one of the all-time disturbing sequences in cinema. Truly a chilling and insightful look into twisted mindset and convoluted politics of the average assassin.

First day home from VoidCon and I get an email from a publisher saying they want to hold one of my stories for an upcoming anthology! It's been a special couple of days 🖤
October 13, 2025 at 10:50 PM
My haul from VoidCon 3! Really this is only a fraction of what I would have walked away with if I had the cash - there were so many amazing artists and vendors there! I'll just have to start saving for VoidCon 4 🖤

Checking out VoidCon with @praiseshadows.bsky.social. So excited to visit the vendors and meet all the cool people!

Re-watched Cabaret (1972) and suddenly realized that Joel Grey's performance as the Emcee seriously delivered one of the most terrifying characters of 70s cinema.

My God, I am crying. I had the incredible good fortune of discovering Ms. Yarbro's work last autumn and now she's one of my favorites. Farewell to one of the true greats. If you've never read her, do yourself a favor and look her up.
