Headlines like this aren't proof that the sports / gambling legalization connection is failing, it's proof that it's working. Before the wide legalization of sports betting, investigations like this were much harder to conduct and rooting out illegal gambling was far, far harder.
Three cops is two cops too many here. If an arrest was justified (and frankly I’d be suspicious of even that claim lately), an unarmed 50 year old woman who OH YEAH was handicapped by WEARING A FULL BODY PENIS SUIT doesn’t need backup.
You just know those cops were itching to knock heads, and it just makes them look like the ridiculous ones.

I do love the coy infusion of progressive talking points here, but they're quite valid -- the first step to a more fulfilling life is a better life :) and I cannot emphasize enough how much those third places matter.

It's honestly baffling to me that there are folks out there saying Bluesky is *just* like Twitter. The rhetoric of hate is so deeply out of hand that it has rotten entire communities to the core. On a personal level, my mental health is doing so much better by not being active in that horrid place.
