Makes sense given fossil fuels are dying
LNG decision not only subsidises a sunset energy source, it pivots us from critical renewables & exposes us to global fluctuations.

About 45% of gas produced in this country goes to Methanex, the Canadian multinational. Fonterra is another significant gas user. Just in case you are wondering who stands to benefit most from the planned LNG plant which is to be paid for by me, thee and every other individual user of power.

Only days ago, Luxon claimed NZ was not in talks with the US on a minerals agreement, that would accelerate mining.
But the US has been much more forthcoming, admitting we are in talks and moving towards agreement. My article today.
