As part of the law school clinic I participated in with EJI’s leadership, I got to be part of the research effort for this memorial. Truly one of the most heart-wrenching and eyeopening experience, reading article after article from not very long ago about countless instances of racial terror.
"One of the most moving places that I have ever been to." "Powerful and heartbreaking. A must visit." "Just go."

These reflections from visitors capture what it is like to visit the National Memorial for Peace and Justice.

Whew. When your kid has a serious medical condition, there is a fine line between reading up to educate yourself and reading yourself into a crushing vortex of anxiety.

A good measure of how crazy things have gotten is if you pretend we’re in a Star Wars movie and then imagine how long the opening crawl would have to be for an audience of people from 4 weeks ago to be caught up

The people of Minnesota have executed one of the most impressive civil resistance campaigns I can remember:

- Organized a city wide general strike
- Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence
- Mobilized 10,000s in subzero temps to protest and watch ICE
- Flipped public opinion against ICE

Why would you believe people who tell you that the US can't shut down institutions at the drop of a hat when you are currently witnessing this administration do it in real time?

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

By who? Who shot the person dead? You saw the video. We all know a federal agent shot a man dead who was prone on the ground. Also, it's not "according to officials." It's according to verified video seen with your eyes. Not saying what anyone can obviously see with their eyes is a form of lying.

Starting to get emails from my kids’ schools about the measles forecast. The outbreak is about 90 minutes’ drive away from us, but it’s now spread to a few upstate counties and the rest of the state is regarding it as an inevitability that it will come to the Midlands and Lowcountry.

This man is talking about stealing a country at gunpoint from nations the US is allied with. Of course Europeans hate us. You would feel the same way if you were in their place. American voters put this man in power, he didn’t seize it this time.
