BRKNG IMPORTANT: So bad is the January weather forecast for Ukraine that PM Yuliya Svyrydenko instructed the central and local governments to basically LOCK DOWN the country and switch the work and education to remote, except for the critical personnel and private employers' workforce.

So bad the weather in Ukraine's capital Kyiv is going to be tonight that dozens of EMPTY trams and trolleybuses will be running along the lines through the night to physically prevent ice and snow accumulation on the overhead wires.

Oh, and Zelensky warned of a possible Russian airstrike.

It's fine though.

They might be calling for assassination of Donald Trump but at least they're not domestic terrorists from a Blue state like Minnesota.
Russian 'Z-military bloggers' are outraged over the seizure of the Marinera and Sophia tankers by the US. They threaten the US.

"The whole discussion about security guarantees is meant to push Ukraine toward painful territorial concessions. Since this is not going to work anyway, given Russia's maximalist war aims, what really matters is long-term military support to Ukraine. The rest is a distraction."

Ukrainian warships would've gladly chased this Russian tanker for 2 weeks👀 with helicopters like the Americans did in the Atlantic, but Ukraine has no warships left, all helicopters are busy with air defense and the Black Sea isn't that spacious anyway so...
The Turkish outlet Ortadoğu reports that on January 7, a drone attacked the oil tanker ELBUS near the coast of Turkey in the Black Sea. The vessel was heading to the Russian port of Novorossiysk, where it was supposed to load oil.

This day nearly broke me, so I'm reminded:

- They want to break us.
- Things will get worse before they get better.
- They will not break us, and there are a hell of a lot more of us than there are of them.

So on the fuck we go.

The ICE actions are not only a sabotage but also a DISTRACTION: from the creeping unholy US-Russia alliance.

When you're enraged by the Minneapolis shooting, you won't notice an official US welcome for 4 members of the Russian "parliament" (which is a fascist genocide-cheering anti-US hate group)⬇️

Mayors in Ukraine's most populated region fight an uphill battle to keep people warm and clean amid a massive blackout caused by Russian terror airstrikes.

Governors say all district heating and most sewage treatment are switched to backup generators🙏 Trains hauled on diesel.

It's all VERY costly.

Ukraine's grid operator admitted unscheduled electricity blackout for "most consumers" in the Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia Regions due to a "massive" Russian terror strike on energy sites "across several regions".

This includes the cities of Dnipro (1 million+ population) and Zaporizhzhia (300K+).

Widespread unscheduled power outages hit Dnipro, the largest city in central Ukraine, hours ago.

It's the aftermath of the massive Russian airstrikes on Dnipro in the recent days.
Russian strikes hit residential areas and educational facilities, damaging more than ten apartment buildings, shattering hundreds of windows and burning multiple civilian cars. Seven people were injured, including two children, mostly suffering acute stress, with some shrapnel wounds.

An important thing I can add about the Minneapolis ICE shooting: the ICE clearly acts in the interests of Russia, China and Iran.

Disrupting the US logistics, defense industry, entire economy (thru labor market etc.) like that directly, undeniably benefits FOREIGN adversaries / economic rivals.

Lots of talk again about China, the US, and Russia dividing the world into spheres of influence. One problem with this idea is that after 30 years of trying, Russia's sphere is limited to Belarus, Georgia, and 20% of Ukraine. Another is that if China has a sphere, it includes Russia.

Ukraine needs to start charging EU leaders for President Zelenky's bodily services. They're all hugging and arm-grabbing him on camera like 20 times a week while he's on UA government business, as if he was some body double.
Zelensky met with EU leaders and Cyprus’s president to discuss boosting air defense, drone production, and Ukraine’s EU accession. He also met Moldova’s President Sandu, stressing both countries should begin EU talks in sync. Talks included a reparations-based loan to stabilize Ukraine’s finances.
