Saw the incoherent mess that was The Running Man yesterday. Is it possible for Edgar Wright to be derivative of his own work? I think so!

Our shit ass landlord is fighting us about money regarding habitability for our home and the extended displacement we were under all summer and all I can think about is packing everything and putting it into storage and suing him for everything he’s worth.

Big memorial party for a long time beautiful friend, partner went to a job site two hours away, house has a water leak, had to migrate to a friend’s home with the dog and no timeline to return home - it’s been a long long week and I am so spent.

In the last two hours I’ve caught the skin of my index finger inside the lid of my pressure canner, and stabbed myself in the side of my thumb with a screwdriver while trying to repair my laundry drying rack. Why must my injuries be so annoying and also hand-based today?

This week on Live Like the World is Dying, @jamesstout.bsky.social and Miriam talk about how to stay safe with danger all around. They talk health and safety basics for protests like security culture, protective gear, first-aid kits, and dangers like projectiles, tear gas, and pepper spray.(1/2)

I had many minor celebrity encounters when I lived in NYC, but my favorite was from long before - when I was in 4th grade I had a raging case of poison oak on my face and made my acting debut as Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The uncle of a classmate, Kevin Kline, was the MC for the show.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

Put the Shiny Box of Doomscrolling down for a whole afternoon and read @margaret.bsky.social’s brilliant Escape From Incel Island in one go while sipping a Dole Whip next to a hotel pool while basking in a bit of sun. It was nice. Wish The Horrors had decided to take a break too! But no. Just more.

Good news! My ding dong dog has pink eye and not a foxtail. Giving him lots of freeze dried beef liver despite him attempting to bite literally everyone including me at his vet appointment (he had a muzzle and we are all unscathed). What a jerk. Enjoy your eye drops my bro!

Hey I know the world is on fire and everything sucks but if you have a spare thought for my little goober this afternoon, I’d appreciate it. Something is going on with his eye and I’m hoping it’s not a foxtail, heading to the vet soon to check it out.

The world is on fire and we keep losing friends (so many friends) so a bachelor/ette weekend in a fancy house in the palm desert is the balm my soul needs before we dive back into the hard work. Loving hard, relaxing harder, and then home to roll up our sleeves.

I’m trying to get to Seattle at the end of the month. I live in Nevada. I don’t have a valid passport (thanks ADHD!) and I don’t have a Real ID (thanks principles!). I’ve heard that “extra screening” will be required for people who don’t have one of those. Welp! Guess it’s ride share? I hate this.

“Why aren’t we having Christmas this year, Mommy?”
“Well you see little Billy, when two F-18 Super Hornet fighter jets love each other very very much…”
i think it's beautiful, actually, that the F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jets were so in love that they followed each other into the sea

When everything sucks, sometimes a working on a concrete task that has an end point can help. This post has been brought to you by the two hours I just spent pulling foxtails out of my yard to deal with these pesky thoughts and feelings.

My best friend had a baby this morning and I was fully unprepared for how much anxiety I would have about this little being’s life. Welcome to The Horrors, little one!

The amount of compartmentalization I’m doing is uh, too much. I think if I can make it through today I get two whole days of grieving, as a treat. Community members are arriving in town, and I think I might even be able to cry soon.

Grief brain is so strange. I am both paralyzed by not being able to imagine the world without my friend, + consumed with planning for what’s next (should I buy lumber for raised garden beds, finance a new laptop, buy coffee + sugar in bulk?). I managed to eat and dress myself before noon at least.

this is straightforwardly concentration camp stuff.

just in very plain terms: we send people to camps now if we, the government, deem it necessary, without due process. you can file a habeas petition in the united states district court with jurisdiction over el salvador, i guess.
Leavitt confirmed that the WH is working on deporting US citizens to El Salvador
