Our new AJS article shows that high earning family and work life courses are remarkably similar in different countries, but differ much for low earners. This is related to country specific policies structuring especially the low-earning life courses.

Hallitus laskee valtion tukeman asuntotuotannon korkotukilainavaltuuksia 2,25 mrd. €:sta 0,5 mrd. €:oon vuosina 2024–2027.

Leikkaus säästää valtiolta vain pari milj. €, mutta se heikentää rakentamista ja BKT:tä.

ARA-lainat on sisällytetty julkiseen velkaan 2022–. Siksi hallitus leikkaa niitä nyt.

Two of the most underappreciated reasons why #Finland and its democracy survived WW2 are IMHO

1) Social reforms from the early 1920s to address the problem below, which greatly hampered earlier independence activists, and inequality in general; and

2) very effective military intelligence service.

And then it actually happened, and the whole rising up against a tyrannical government thing just totally slipped our minds, which is a little embarrassing,” a sheepish NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre said. He said the morale around the NRA has been pretty low. “The guys feel pretty silly. We had our well regulated militia stocked up and ready to go, just waiting for the moment when the Government would turn on its own people. And then the government started shooting protesters and rolling tanks down the street, and we were like ‘guys this is the one we’ve been talking about, let’s go!’. But then something else came up and we forgot to do it. Damnit!”. His career is ending, while mine is just beginning.

He chose to “play ball” while I went and earned a Ph.D. in Sociology.
