An incredible performance. E text is almost 450 years old and, to paraphrase Sir Ian in another of his roles, it hasn't aged a day.
Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

Just opened a fresh bottle of Heinz Salad Cream. When I peeled back the seal it went off like a fucking hand grenade, treating me to a salad cream bukkake and coating the walls and ceiling of the kitchen.

Pro tip: don't get salad cream in your eyes. The vinegar in it stings like crazy.

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated or Pixar.

The replies.

Oh, the replies. @theonion.com is truly a work of (many) genius (es).
What is the quintessential Onion headline? The strong contender that just randomly popped in my mind is "Hank Williams Jr. Honored by Institute For Football Preparedness"

This is beautifully written and deeply affecting. Give it a read.

Thank you, @dataandpolitics.net for writing this. Hang in there🫂.
Three years after my husband died, I’m still trying to prove our life together was worth losing his family.

What I live with isn’t forgetting — it’s the blurring of memory.

On the third anniversary, I wrote about grief, memory, and continuing without answers.

As I recall in WW2 the "negotiations" went along the lines of:

Allies: Sign the unconditional surrender here.
Nazis: Ok.
JD Vance: "This is how wars ultimately get settled. If you go back to World War 2, if you go back to every major conflict in human history, they all end with some kind of negotiation."
