Nigel Farage once vehemently believed that defections should trigger by-elections…

I challenged Reform’s Andrea Jenkyns on his now opposite stance

And this was the state of her response…

But what do Reform do? Table a reasoned amendment that would kill the bill.

Two of the reasons they give: it would encourage migration and because some of the help will be for children with at least one parent born outside the UK.

Absolutely fucking disgusting!

Yesterday I asked to be taken off the review committee of Supercomputing 26 in Chicago, one of the key conferences in my field. I cannot support a conference in a country where children are snatched from school and put into concentration camps.

Our pubs in #CardiffEast are the heart of our communities.

To support them with rising costs and changing habits, the Welsh Labour Government is providing a 15% discount on business rates in 2026-27.

This £8m package will help 4,400 hospitality businesses across Wales.

Am certainly no fan of Mandelson, but I am also no fan of using primary legislation so as to impose a sanction on particular individuals without any due process.

This is what the Stuarts did, and we sort of thought better of it after the civil wars.

Listening to several Tory contributions it proves they are morally devoid…while the Reform amendment to kill the bill is downright evil.

But he will keep his title as a peerage is bestowed for life - unless government changes the law.

1. In 2009 I wrote this. I argued that Peter Mandelson's department “functions as a fifth column within government, working for corporations to undermine democracy and the public interest.”
This thread explains what I saw, and reaches a startling conclusion.🧵
