My initial impulse is that MN should sue for access to the case materials. But, I'm shooting from the hip. I have no idea what such a cause of action would look like or its viability. To my knowledge, a complete federal freeze-out is unprecedented (please correct me if I'm wrong). 3/3

Michigan State actually showed a lot of fight in this game. Going to Nebraska is a hornets nest, especially with this being their Super Bowl. Not having Divine hurt us with some lineups. Can’t beat anyone turning the ball over 19 times. Jax was incredible. This one just annoys me bc it was winnable.

Only slightly related but I love asking gun nuts here in Texas to tell me what the first words of the second amendment actually are.
It will be funny to watch this Supreme Court find ambiguity w birth right citizenship after having claimed the second amendment allows no restrictions on weapons of war
Worth repeating: The Supreme Court does not have the power to overrule or rewrite our Constitution.

Anyone who thought that this nakedly partisan supreme Court would do anything different was either delusional or misinformed.
BREAKING: Supreme Court sides with Texas Republicans in fight over congressional map. The new gerrymandered map will be used in the 2026 midterms. The vote is 6–3, with the Republican appointees siding with Texas.

I generally share @astronomers.bsky.social's skepticism of generative AI use for slides. But, I decided to run a test using NotebookLM and now, I'm not so sure. I gave NotebookLM my Criminal Law textbook as it's only source (avoiding GIGO problems) and asked for slides for the Introduction. 1/
I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

As a Michigan State graduate, I view any hire for a highly public leadership position to be symbolic of the direction of the University.
Considering recent history, hiring someone who at best was unaware of a hazing scandal under his leadership makes Pat Fitzgerald a tone deaf and unqualified hire.
