36 people are reported dead in the last 24 hours across seven states due to extreme storms.

States of emergency have been declared in Arkansas, Georgia and Oklahoma, where more than 100 wildfires have been raging.

Trump would like you to know this.

This is blood-boiling. Charles Rogers was awarded the Medal of Honor in Vietnam after being wounded three times leading the defense of a position.

Google his name and the entry below comes up. When you click, you'll see the page has been deleted and the URL changed to include "DEI medal."

I gave a campus talk last night on Trump's first 100 days for the WUD Society & Politics group. A student asked me if I thought that, at some point, we might start to describe the US as a competitive authoritarian regime. I said that we were already there, it's just that most folks haven't noticed:

Having the President call out private citizens like this is appalling, dangerous, and scary.

Yale just confirmed to me that the State Department did indeed cancel this contract for one of its research labs, which was tracking Ukrainian kids kidnapped by Russia:
SCOOP --> Trump's State Department quietly terminated a contract that was in the process of transferring evidence of Russian abductions of Ukrainian kids to European law enforcement, two sources familiar with the situation tell me.

Trump Admin Nixed Contract Helping Kidnapped Ukrainian Kids: Sources
The fate of abducted Ukrainian children is a white-hot issue for peace negotiations—and it looks like the State Department may have just undercut the cause.

Extraordinary moment — Nancy Pelosi issues a statement calling on Democratic senators to reject the House funding bill, i.e. to defy Chuck Schumer.

"Democratic senators should listen to the women," she says, referring to Murray/DeLauro who want a 1-month stopgap bill instead.

I’m in Nebraska today. Iowa tomorrow. Kansas next week. We are putting in the work to get a message out to our folks. The anger at Trump and Musk and missing congresspeople is palpable.

It’s time to show up — give the folks a message.

Just now, the Missouri House voted to overturn our will. Without signatures…with a vote. They do the bidding of the wealthy.

Trump forced the opening of a dam that was nowhere near Los Angeles, actively hurt local farmers, and had no role in putting out the fires that been contained a week earlier.

Other than that, yeah, big help.

This basically means only hard-core Republicans would blame Dems, which they would do no matter what.
New Quinniac poll:

If there's a shutdown...

32% blame Dems
31% blame Republicans
22% blame Trump

That's a majority blaming Trump and/or the GOP. Hang tough, Dems.

CALLS ARE WORKING - it has bought us precious time, but we NEED to keep the pressure up.

Tomorrow is the cloture vote.

KEEP CALLING: (202) 224-3121 ☎️☎️☎️

Tell your Dem Senator to vote NO on Cloture and NO on the Republican spending bill.

Do NOT assume your Senator will be good on this. Trust me.
🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.

Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it.

TODAY is the showdown.
