I was a medic at the Santa Ana protests in OC today.
I watched police fire tear gas, flash bangs, & rubber bullets into crowds of men, women, & children.
Other medics and I were clearly marked with red crosses, and the police were targeting us.
One of the most fucked up things I’ve ever seen.

I’m in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, today, deep red country—remember the video of the woman being dragged out of a town hall by goons? That was here. Town of 44 k. 1,000 turned out to protest. North of here, in even more extremist county, smaller town, 700. That’s a little good, brave news.

I’ve been heartbroken lately by a couple of people I really trusted and believed in who have chosen to be completely silent and pretend nothing is happening right now. So disappointing.
Is it fear? Entrepreneurial straddling the fence for financial reasons? Or is it just so much privilege?
