Brexit is a disaster, the world is literally burning and Britain is descending into a far right mess. However, my cats keep me optimistic.
The more I think about it, the more I think Starmer is playing a bad hand quite well here. Being moronically outside of the EU, reciprocal tariffs could be a disaster for our economy.

This is unhinged. A 75 year old alliance in NATO is being trashed to serve one man's ego.

Trump is not a reliable ally, he's a reckless bully. Starmer needs a plan B to stand up for Britain and our allies.

I hope 2026 is the year where the UK moves from acknowledging Brexit was damaging to doing significantly more about it.

This is a great listen. Polanski demonstrates great personal attributes and it’s VERY refreshing to hear the politics of hope. However, he demonstrates that the Green Party still needs to develop their economic ideas and credibility. We should remember that it is early days though!
🚨NEW EPISODE🚨

Our much-requested Leading interview is here.

@alastaircampbell2.bsky.social and Rory are joined by @zackpolanski.bsky.social discussing Israel-Gaza, the definition of populism, and the Green Party's economic policy.

This is very weak from Farage. Showing how his “straight talking” approach falls apart as soon as he’s confronted.
Have I ever racially abused anyone?
"Never in a hurtful or insulting way"
"Not with intent"
In other words, "yes".

What a guy!
On US TV shows and podcasts from 2009-18, Farage discussed supposed plots by bankers to create a global government, citing Goldman Sachs, the Bilderberg group and George Soros as threats to democracy. Included six guest slots with the disgraced far-right US conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

I think this is one of the main straightforward policy points which make the Greens infinitely more palatable than “your party” (if this is the current name).
"You can agree or disagree with him, but Polanski does not pretend to be something he is not.

He is unusually willing for a politician to give a straight answer to questions.

Does he want to rejoin the EU? “Yes."

I hope the findings outlined make people realise the risk of voting for the unserious and inept.
Johnson & Cummings killed 23,000 people.

If a lockdown had been imposed on 16 March, a week earlier than it was, it could have cut the number of deaths in England in the first wave of the virus by almost half, saving 23,000 lives, the Covid inquiry says.

Having Johnson & Cummings in Downing Street when Covid struck was, just like Brexit, an entirely avoidable disaster caused largely by utterly appalling journalism. And now exactly the same clowns, arses & bigots with bylines are rolling out the red carpet for Farage.
