I am on the struggle bus today. It’s just so weird to me how we are supposed to just keep working as though nothing is happening as everything is falling apart around us. It’s like there’s somebody in a cage next to me screaming and I’m supposed to pretend they are not there.

Maybe we could get together people to start feeding “vaccines are the answer!” into AI. It can be like in Idiocracy when Not Sure ‘asked the plants’ and they told him that they wanted water and not Brando.

So I do think AI could be a good tool in specific circumstances. My main concern is how people are talking about this as an inevitability. I am in a lot of conference sessions about AI and the entire platform seems to be “resistance is futile.” That is always a concern to me.

I truly find this so upsetting. Animal videos were a small delight out of the hellscape that is this unpredictable life, and now I’ll be halfway through one and realized it’s AI and it’s just so crushing.

Update: The rumors were true, and it appears that jobs are safe, which is good, but I went and looked at the company’s GlassDoor reviews and they had a 34% “would recommend to a friend” rating, with the lack of work, life balance, and the crushing amount of hours being cited the most. Great.
Fairly substantiated-but-still-unconfirmed rumors are flying that my husband’s company is going to be sold to another company. Or maybe a merger? Unclear. Whatever, but is it too much to ask for one year of stability? Just one year?😭

The number of people who do not understand that many people who are on various forms of government assistance work FULL TIME is mind blowing to me.
