I’m overwhelmed by this tragedy at Brown. I was a student there; I can recall myself walking through these areas, now crime scenes. As a parent, eager to see my son for winter break, the devastation these families must be feeling rips out my heart. And nothing will change.

I am a student at Brown University. There is an active shooting situation on campus. While some news sites have reported the suspect in custody this is not true. At 5:51 EST the school said the situation is ongoing and to keep sheltering in place. We’ve heard lots of emergency responders.
