I ain't buying it. Someone who does in 2032 still has 10 years to have kids. If they die in 2022, that future vanishes and with it the viability of future humanity to even ask past humanity for help.

If today's society were to send our people 30 years into the future to fight a war and only 20% came back, wouldn't that prevent millions of future people also fighting the war from ever being born?

I will say it’s ironic that they hired Alan Rickman to be Nottingham because he was such an awesome baddie in Die Hard before writing him a character nothing like Hans Gruber. Gruber was calm, smart and formidable. Nottingham is hot-headed, stupid and comically inept.
