Making a duff appointment is not grounds for departure.

All the other supposed mistakes might be, but I suggest the better questions are 1) who will replace him? 2) how will they do better?

If you don't have ready answers to both of these questions, you don't have a solution.

You have a gesture.
Today I run the risk of annoying everyone.

Starmer got the Mandelson appointment spectacularly wrong and deserves to be held accountable.

I’m just not convinced that his resignation is the answer.
This Won’t Be Popular: Starmer Got It Wrong - But That Doesn’t Mean He Should Go
Starmer’s Mandelson decision was a spectacular lapse of judgement - and still not a case for detonating the Prime Minister.

They've attempted to weasel out of this causality loop by only sending folk due to die before 2052.

I ain't buying it. Someone who does in 2032 still has 10 years to have kids. If they die in 2022, that future vanishes and with it the viability of future humanity to even ask past humanity for help.

Re: The Tomorrow War. I'm coming to this 2021 movie very late, but the setup makes no sense.

If today's society were to send our people 30 years into the future to fight a war and only 20% came back, wouldn't that prevent millions of future people also fighting the war from ever being born?

Kinda depressing that even rejoining the EU, something I wholeheartedly support but cannot see happening for a long time, will only take us back to where we were before Brexit happened for no good reason whatsoever.
Uncharacteristically mild wording from Ian but unerringly accurate as always.
It is so embarrassing that it has taken nearly a decade for a British minister to say this, a statement of the absolute bloody obvious

A Grand Jury, so the saying goes, will indict a ham sandwich.

It won’t, however, indict 6 Congressmen for not breaking the law.
We have a federal administration led by idiots and criminals.

I will say it’s ironic that they hired Alan Rickman to be Nottingham because he was such an awesome baddie in Die Hard before writing him a character nothing like Hans Gruber. Gruber was calm, smart and formidable. Nottingham is hot-headed, stupid and comically inept.

I love how in his imbecile mind, he's telling himself this will drive Canadians toward him.
completely pucking bonkers
Trump, in the middle of his latest unhinged Truth Social screed, claims that if Canada makes a trade deal with China, "the first thing China will do is terminate ALL Ice Hockey being played in Canada, and permanently eliminate The Stanley Cup."

As reluctant as I am to give succour to MAGA asshats, English subtitles would have been nice.

Not vital. Just nice.

That said, this is the first time I've heard Bad Bunny's music and even if I formed any part of the target demographic, it's not my usual cup of tea.

Wait, it lectured China?
The Starmer regime has made it illegal to express support for Palestine Action and has had hundreds of people arrested for peacefully doing so. Yet it has the nerve to lecture China...

The so-called "pro-life," "pro-family" party is perfectly fine with an 18-month-old child almost dying because of the deplorable conditions at this detention center. Hello?

First, there was "News"

Then there was "Breaking News", prompting the question "what kind of news isn't breaking"?

Now it is "Major Breaking News" every day, prompting the question "where is the minor breaking news?"

They live in a universe in which enraging liberals is quite literally the reason they do what they do.

It stands to reason they judge others by their own deragnged standards.

Now watching "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves".

I've critiqued other adaptations for historical accuracy and fidelity to source material.

To be honest, that all seems a bit redundant when considering a version in which Robins walks from Dover to Nottingham via Hadrian's Wall is less than a day

Just think, a deft rebrand to the "Parrots" could have seen New England right.
Well the Super Bowl stays with an NFC team that's also a bird team.

And if that lowering of expectations isn't a klaxon for some disastrous incomingtt job figures, nothing is.

Look at construction jobs btw. If a load of new factories are being built as claimed, there should be a lot more people working construction.
Peter Navarro: "The jobs report comes out tomorrow. We have to revise our expectations down significantly for what a monthly job number should look like ... Wall Street has to adjust for the fact that we're deporting millions of illegals out of the job market."

Oh wait. They did.

Really wish the Founders had foreseen how spineless enough members of Congress could get.

Ghislaine Maxwell's attorney says his client is able to clear President Trump of wrongdoing in relation to Epstein.

Given she has been indicted twice for perjury, has no further avenues of appeal and has a clear motive for lying, that is a fanciful claim. As a witness, she has zero credibility.

Lord Coe put it best in his speech during the best ever Olympic Games' opening ceremony (London 2012) when he said "There is a truth to sport, a purity".

You can't gaslight a bad time. There are no talking points that anyone wants to hear about not qualifying.

You either made it or you didn't.
If they would only introduce a "shooting your stupid mouth off" event.

Oh, hold on. That's everything else.
Lotta fat old guys telling Olympic athletes that they should be sent home. No one is stopping you from getting off your couches and training to take their spots. Until then, enjoy watching them exercise their free speech rights. Go team USA.
