Gorillas demonstrate a high degree of self-awareness, recognizing themselves in a mirror, and often exhibiting compassion and grief.

Chimps are capable of both genuine altruism and advanced political/social coalition-building.

I’d trade either for the disgusting psychopath currently in charge.
Trump posts a flagrantly racist video showing the Obamas as apes.

Lotta fat old guys telling Olympic athletes that they should be sent home. No one is stopping you from getting off your couches and training to take their spots. Until then, enjoy watching them exercise their free speech rights. Go team USA.

How absolutely frickin' ridiculous.

I quite like Zach Polanski but looks like a dick with this one.
Necessary but not sufficient.

He knew. And still appointed him.

Starmer needs to go.

Harsh. In fact, this is quite offensive.

Gorillas both exhibit self-awareness and are capable of great empathy and care.

The creator should apologise to the Gorilla community.
A vast improvement…

There really is nothing a speed skater needs his/her hands for.

They should allow them to do knitting while they skate and then maybe they could award an additional medal for the best sweater or scarf.

I like to think I add value to the IOC.

One of FDR's Veeps famously declared the office was not "worth a bucket of warm piss".

Vance is making that bucket look like a very attractive alternative right now.

He's worse than useless because he's useless AND he gets in the way of people whose life consists of more than groveling to a crook.
Everywhere he goes he causes problems.

What an odd formulation. I *think* they mean "has Trump been too racist even for his most solid supporters?"

Come to think, I don't even know what the "racism card" is. The "race card" is the (largely apocryphal tactic) of hiding behind protected minority status to deflect criticism or scrutiny.

The administration's argument appears to be that nobody would ever choose to name airports and railway stations after President Trump, therefore it will force them to do so.

🤦‍♂️
Trump wanted Dulles Airport and Penn Station named after him as condition of releasing rail tunnel funds

Then return to Russia.

Problem solved.

The nation already owes you a great deal, Marc.
If you hear someone saying that they hope lawyers are ready to go to court to protect free and fair elections, I suggest you let them know that my law firm is already litigating more than 80 voting and election cases in 40 states.

We all have agency in the eyes of the law. And still, I prefer to see ICE's goons as useful idiots rather than pure villains.

They've been hired, armed, not trained and ordered to do illegal shit with a promise of immunity that nobody can grant.

The truly culpable are those organising this.
Mamdani: "I speak of Renee Good, whose final words to the man who murdered her were, 'I'm not mad at you.' I speak of Alex Pretti who died as he lived, caring for the stranger. ICE shot him bc he did something they could never fathom ... let us offer a new path: one of defiance through compassion."

It's not enough to condemn trump for the Obama video. He didn't create it, he can barely tie his shoes. The vile creatures around him create this shit because a. They think it's cool. And b. They're a complete representation of him: vile, vulgar, disgusting creatures.

"Donald Trump is a dissembling, ignorant bigot" is, sadly, no longer international news.
The US president indulges in horrific racism online. And the BBC report on this outrageous behaviour? I can’t see a word about it on their site. Am I missing it?

Trump was looking squarely at the UK when he claimed other countries would bear the costs of lower US drug prices.

So we did a deal. Our drug prices will rise by 4%. In exchange we will sell more drugs into the US (pharma is a major sector here).

Don't hold your breath for big price cuts.
Dr Oz on how Trump lowered drug prices: "If you look someone in the eyes and say, 'Listen, you're making 3 times more than you should off these drugs than anyone else on the planet. What gives?' You know what they say? 'We knew one day you'd come knocking.' All these companies did the right thing."

Every time I see this image some part of my heuristic brain thinks I'm seeing his embalmed corpse lying in state and I become giddy with excitement.

It's not a worthy thought but in my defence, embalmed dead Trump and make-up caked live Trump aren't biologically far apart.
No wonder he’s always sleepy.

As well they should be. The once hegemonic US auto sector is about to be swallowed whole by China.

It's not even Trump's fault, though he is hastening and intensifying the capitulation.

(Read "Apple in China" by Patrick McGhee to understand how one American corporation seeded China's EV sector.)

Kid Rock’s 2001 song, “Cool, Daddy Cool,” which contains the lyrics, “Young ladies, young ladies, I like ’em underage, see some say that’s statutory (but I say that’s mandatory).”

Which moron booked Kid Rock for the MAGA family values concert in the middle of a pedophile news cycle? JD Vance?
