They do seem to think they’re on an across-the-board bet here. They think they either intimidate the public into quiescence OR they get a riot and a clamp-down.

There may not be an excuse, but there is an explanation. And I think the American public need to hear it - if only do they can gauge these state-sanctioned thugs.
