It is critically important for the entire planet to stop relying on the US for literally anything whatsoever. The dollar needs to go, US security & infrastructure needs to go, the UN and NATO need to be reformed - everything the US has disproportionate influence in needs to be fixed.

The "business mindset" has brought so little value to humanity. These are people whose whole relationship with the world is one in which they manipulate numbers inside a spreadsheet to make a bar graph go up on a slide deck. Just VisiCalc brain thru and thru.

"alleged" in reporting is for like, folks accused of murder or assault and awaiting trial where it's possible the person may not have done the thing. It's unhinged that it's become a way for papers to skirt around just naming a thing we all saw happened in public.
this idea that journalists are not allowed to describe objective reality that they see but can only quote what other people believe about things is one of the stupid ideas that has basically destroyed a shared reality
