That’s why I say keep calling.
I recognize this is, to some extent, cope/bargaining, but

this is the the first of several votes necessary to end the shutdown, right? so even the present unfathomable fecklessness doesn't mean it's over over, and there are multiple potential blockage points ahead to reject a no-concessions 'deal'?

Agree.

Sen Hassan, asked what will happen if Republicans don't carry out the deal, "Well, shame on them."

This is not what people were mobilizing for on Oct 18.

Know this, @schumer.senate.gov — if you cave, we will not rest until you are primaried and wrested from your seat. When kids on SNAP aren’t being fed, we’re even more hungry for justice. New York has shown you the people’s power just days ago. You *could* join with us, still, and do the right thing.

Seriously: calling Schumer is very cathartic. I may do it again.
So, listen, call Schumer’s office no matter where you live, no matter if you’re registered to vote. Leave a voicemail that says if Senate Dems cave without an ACA premiums fix, you will never vote for or donate to another Senate Democrat as long as he is Leader
Call them:

Schumer (NY)

Booker (NJ)

King (ME)

Just left a message for @schumer.senate.gov’s office telling them that they should take a long hard look at the career path of Cuomo’s staff and think carefully if they want to follow the same trajectory. And if they fold, I look forward to donating a lot of $ to @aoc.bsky.social’s NY Senate race.

I don’t think these guys cuomo what they are about to unleash on themselves.
Following up on this. This remains a ‘cave is minutes or hours away’ situation. If you want to impact how this plays out you need to contact senators literally now. I want to add additional points of context. What I’m relaying is what I’ve picked up from highly reliable sources.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

The Axios boys are giddy about the Ds offer, interpreting it as a big climb down. I'm not sure that interpretation is right. But this is an important moment to make clear to @schumer.senate.gov @schatz.bsky.social et al, that anything less than this offer needs to be rejected out of hand.

Murakami is a classic six tool player - he hits for average, power, fields, throws, has raw speed and writes critically beloved magical realism novels.
Japanese star Munetaka Murakami will be posted today, per ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

The 25-year-old (he’ll be 26 on Opening Day) is widely viewed as one of the best power hitters available in this year’s free-agent market.

Conscience of guilt?
I don't know who this guy is, but I certainly hope he is okay. That was hard to watch.

I also want to agree with those who noted how bizarre it is that Robert F. Kennedy Jr., seeing a tragedy unfold before him, hauled ass out of the room like George Costanza during a fire.

What a nauseating man.

What is happening at Goddard is absolutely devastating. We are losing history. We are losing an incredible amount of human talent, skill, and knowledge. Rebuilding it will be impossible same for same. Industry can not absorb the people or the equipment. This is undoing space science in the US.
