Nothing made this clearer to me than working for the 2020 Census. The categories are all just color and looks-based. Before Asian was a race category most were considered white because they had pale skin, Mexicans once successfully sued to be considered white. It’s just divisive and fake.

This is insane I did not know this
The ACA was cool because before the ACA EVERY SINGLE CHILD WITH CANCER hit their annual and lifetime limits almost immediately and were denied insurance for the rest of their lives and after the ACA that’s illegal.
The ACA was cool because before the ACA you could hit your lifetime maximum before you were a month old and be denied insurance for the rest of your life and after the ACA that’s illegal.

Just a non-gentle reminder of this guy's past. People knew who he was and what he stood for. His resume was blatantly clear. Now, he is doing the same on a massive scale and with help.

The arc from “freedom fries” to “hitler fries” is a good encapsulation of how American conservatism has evolved in my lifetime

I just wrote and directed a play- the first night someone walked out after standing and saying “Shameless! Tasteless!” The next night someone yelled “Free Luigi!” So something was connecting. I feel you!
i'm looking at One of the Book Review Websites I am Legally Barred From Looking At but all the reviews of the next book are either "a masterpiece!" or "the author should be killed" and nothing in between. legitimately this makes me feel good about it lol

People assume Andrew Cuomo is tough and A Fighter because he always looks angry and acts weird. Mistaking a total lack of emotional self-regulation and wild, self-destructive spite for Masculine Strength is one of the defining political errors to me. No one even tries to keep it together anymore.

I also think the Trump regime’s embrace of pro-rape figures like Tate should be considered a continuation of their anti-abortion politics—different in style, but not in substance. Both seek to commandeer women’s bodies by force in order to compel them into a gendered role, be it mommy or sex object.

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

Musk and his minions' gamer mentality is a key part of the detachment of our present circumstances from a shared commitment to reality, let alone empathy. We're being pulled through billionaires' gaming fantasies. The world is a first-person-shooter adventure to them, and we're the NPC targets.
