#HandSpinning banana fiber is interesting. Staple length around 6 inches is very wispy fine fibers that are 15x as strong as cotton and 10x as durable as linen. Banana fiber is moisture wicking, cool to the touch and a bit dry yet soft and silky when spinning. Easier and less shedding than nettles.🧶

A lot of the media has messed up in describing all of these folks who are observing as protesters, they’re neighbors who quickly come out of their homes to document ICE presence knowing that their privilege is the only thing possibly standing in the way of a neighbor being disappeared or brutalized.

I don’t think we should be using words like “innocent” or “US citizen” or “bystander” or things like that because — what if someone was an undocumented immigrant with a criminal record? Would they deserve this? No one deserves to be executed on the street in cold blood.
