I guess I made it? Still haven’t been DOGE’d. Call me a DEI hire or whatever, but I worked my ass off to get where I am today

My Dad was a drafted disabled (no $ for bone spurs) Vietnam vet. He had to quit working bc of Agent Orange; we lost his income & gained tons of medical debt. #nasa
This happened today. I’m conflicted working for the government considering the government just shot a mom in the face. I get it’s two different agencies & when I started it was a different administration but the fact that this anniversary coincided with this fucking awful…just…awful…god awful thing…

Elon Musk was always one of those men - for like 15 years - who I did not want to be alone with. I didn’t like him, I didn’t like his fanboys, it all made me uncomfortable and creeped me out & I couldn’t explain it.

And everyone told me I was wrong or weird or whatever. Honestly…I wish I had been.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced the integration of Elon Musk's xAI platform, Grok, into military networks as part of a new "AI acceleration strategy" during a visit to SpaceX.

Fine. I like to put a clothespin on mine so I can clip it to my pocket. Problem solved.

Where the clothespin migrates to on its own is something out of my control, unfortunately.
His face is pollution.
Department of Interior says if you put a sticker over Trump's face on your national park entrance pass, the pass will be invalidated.
Meanwhile Trump's decision to put his face on the passes is being challenged in court

For my fellow New Orleanians:
I can't help but notice that NOLA doesn't have a Friday afternoon pop up. My theory: Happy Hour.

The governor of Louisiana, Jeff Landry, is such a piece of shit.

Last New Years Eve, there was a terror attack that killed 14 people. The terrorist was a US citizen, born in Houston.

New Orleans has real problems. Immigration is not one of them

In case:

- They’re made illegal in state/nation

- Insurance won’t cover them

- FDA pulls some crazy shenanigans

Hey everyone - if I’m more quiet than usual on my socials lately, I hope the reason is obvious. But don’t worry - I’m okay, and just because I’m not announcing all the things I’m doing doesn’t mean I’m not doing things 😉

Poboys rise up! #neworleans
Every city choose your anti-fascist culinary projectile challenge.
And they want to try this in Chicago?

Taking a sub to the chest is nothing compared to catching a 60-pound deep dish pizza.

There's going to be a lot of feds with giant circles punched clean through their stomachs, standing there all confused like Wile E. Coyote.

I honestly don’t know how we ever recover from this loss of institutional knowledge. There’s no reason to do this…we learn nothing from history.

Tomorrow I will go to work and train those who come after me as best I can, like always, because I truly love NASA #nasa 🧪🔭🚀🛰️

The employees who have chosen to leave the agency amount to about 20% of NASA's workforce.

There was a Shuttle launch that I worked on console…STS-133 maybe?

Anyway, Stephen Colbert was at JSC to tape a bit for his show. And after the launch I went to the building he was in. After taking a nap in the car, he showed up in an orange ACES suit. That’s me with the sunglasses on my head.

There’s a nonzero chance you will die from a cancer that could have been curable because people who couldn’t pass 7th grade biology and are scared of things like “mRNA” and “riboflavin” and “walkable cities” decided to make their ignorance everybody else’s problem
Over 120 mRNA cancer trials are now at risk as the Trump admin cuts funding & tells researchers to scrub “mRNA” from grant proposals.

What started as COVID fearmongering is now derailing life-saving cancer research.

Hope remains - but scientists say time is running out.

This is so fucked up. Yes, it included many friends and colleagues. Yes, it makes me question how we will be able to continue safe human spaceflight as laid out in CAIB Report recommendations going forward.

Just an absolute waste of knowledge and for what? What? What has this accomplished?

I was at the Guadalupe River when flash floods hit in 2007. We were on an island in the river when it started to rise. We’re both experienced swimmers/Scuba divers. The water came up so fast…it was terrifying. Here’s some video; we were stranded for a couple days but thankfully everyone was ok.

@lastweektonight.com I just watched the episode about Elon Musk’s latest rocket explosion. John said it was an “unmanned” mission- & that’s true! This may seem trivial, but the Trump admin hasn’t fired all of the women at NASA yet. May I suggest “uncrewed” instead? It’s what we say at work. ❤️ y’all!

A mother raccoon and her 4 babies showed up in our neighborhood and everyone started feeding them.

Now if we’re sitting outside, they will sneak up on us and tap us on the shoulder like “Hey! I’m here! Time for dinner!”

It’s absolutely adorable. 🦝
