Occasional reminder that though my posts may not regularly acknowledge the absolute fecal storm happening ON THE DAILY, it doesn't mean that I have become nose-blind to its stench.
Things are big and bad, but something that YOU can do in your life, starting right this second, is to live with love, care, & acceptance.
YOU can make a difference in the lives of people around you.
YOU can be a beacon of kindness in a cruel world.
It wont fix the worst on its own, but it will help.

2026 just looks weird.

Maybe if everyone, AND I MEAN GARY-OLDMAN-EVERYONE, made a point to be kind and lovely to one another, this year wouldn't suck a fungus foot.

#Reconnection is a worthwhile endeavour to pursue in 2026, as my good friend @abovewill.bsky.social suggested to me this week. Skip the AI companion bots the techbros desperately want you to share yourself with, and instead talk with the friends you’ve been meaning to get in touch with for ages. ❤️🙏
Yes, you can still stay in the loop with what's going on internationally & nationally, like by reading newspapers in your public library, but for the rest of 2025 it's a good idea to be more active & engaged in your local communities, and to keep up to date with the good things out there. ❤️🙏

Over ten years ago, I connected with a group of beautifully intelligent and talented women, without whom, I don't know if I'd still be pursuing this dream. Some have met in person, some are still in contact, some have parted ways - regardless, I'm grateful for each of them. ❤️ #scriptsky #storybroads

Not a resolution, but I hope to be more in touch with the ol' screenwriting gang in the coming year. I miss our chats and am here to support you all in whatever ways I can. #scriptsky

Couldn't have said it better myself. ❤️ #scriptsky
I don’t care what progress you made in your professional career in 2025. If your biggest accomplishment this year was just remaining hopeful in the current world we live in, I’m proud of you. #scriptsky

Hi there, @thomharp.bsky.social remains a marvelous screenwriter and filmmaker and we deserve to see more of his work on the big screen.

Someone is impersonating Ariel Lawhon (author of The Frozen River) on here. It has been confirmed she does NOT have a Bluesky account. I reported and blocked, but just in case:

Perform empathy. Please. Perform the fuck out of it. It's so good to act with kindness. I hope it penetrates to a place where you feel it, too, but if you must act some way, act the right way. I'm not here to judge your authenticity, I just want you to be kind, thoughtful, and mortified by meanness.

Me, too! I need creative goodness!
What excellent film & tv accounts am I missing?

I’ve got too much politics and not enough making movies!

Fifty-years old and just learned moleskin notebooks and journals aren't actually made from moles.

I ....

I don't wanna talk about it.

The good: I've been wearing "producer hat" more lately.

The bad: pro bono producer work means no income. And so, I could use your help!

If you're looking for sharp, wholistic, empathetic notes on your screenwriting, please consider doing a consult with me. DM me for rates/availability!

Maybe the reason we see so many good people die tragic deaths in the news, and so few bad people, is a matter of numbers.

Maybe there are just that many more good people.

I don’t know how to process the horrific fire hose of tragedy that has been omnipresent but has spiked this weekend, and I suspect I’m not alone. We aren’t meant to carry this much suffering and be able to function at “normal” capacity. Be gentle with yourself and others, if you can.

The cultural impact of Rob Reiner cannot be understated. Legend isn't big enough a word. It goes to 11. You can't handle the truth. As you wish. I'll have what she's having. I'm your number one fan. You guys wanna see a dead body? The very idea of a bucket list. The West Wing.

All from his movies.

I just read the new SPINAL TAP book and there’s a moment where Rob Reiner and the rest of the cast ask each other which projects will lead their obituary. Rob was sure “Meathead” was going to be the first line of his.

Tonight, everyone’s teeing off with “one of the greatest directing runs ever”
