Arsenal FC fan since I can remember (25+ years). The poetry of football vs. the downward spiral of pub punditry.

#InAbouWeTrust
Could not have put it better myself.
A lot of pundits seem to simultaneously believe that Liverpool are the favourites to win the league and Arteta must win it or he is a failure, which would only make sense if Arsenal were the favourites.

Hey. Been a while. Arsenal are winning the league this year. We played without 4 first team players against the best team in the league and JUST lost away to a moment of magic. We are now finally a batter team than Liverpool is and we are going nowhere.

Hey, if there’s a foul and you let it play and the teams shoots at goal and misses, SURELY you don’t come back to the foul again, no? Hasn’t that rule been changed like a decade ago?

Other decimated squads this year: Utd, Tottenham, City. Look at where they are compared to what was expected of them. This team keeps on overachieving and then called out for ending up runners up. People who talk about football sure love their binary talk 😄

3.14 - Arsenal produced an xG of 3.14 tonight, the most by a team against Paris SG in a UEFA Champions League game this season. Their 19 shots were also their most in a knockout match since having 20 away at Barcelona in March 2016. Valiant.

Chelsea have become a motley crew of mercenaries with no identity left whatsoever. After being the mobsters of world football, they’ve become the PwC of the premier league.

Referees have let play-acting completely unchecked for decades and it’s now gone to farcical levels. We see it every week, but anybody who isn’t a football fan watches these athletes pretend they just got shot at every contact and laugh at it. Far from being a terrible thing, just quite lame.

The amount of play-acting in that Chelsea team is reaching new heights.

Liverpool deserve to be champions. End of. Now, to all my fellow scousers, just go and enjoy it for Christ sakes.
Liverpool (70) have more points after 29 games than Man City (64) or Arsenal (65) had at this stage last season.

Salah has equalled the record for goals & assists in a single season & there's nine games to go.

This is a goldilocks season where everything has gone right. They're deserving champions

The problem with United is that we’ve ALWAYS found it hard against them. Even when they were ABOLUTELY terrible (Moyes teams come to mind). I think that hoodoo is now gone though. If we do anything but win, it won’t be because we’ve lost our heads or respected them too much. Let’s do this.

Trust the media to turn a ‘complete failure’ of a season to ‘potential CL contenders’. A quote comes to mind:

It is never as good as it looks and it is never as bad as it seems.

Word.

You have every right to be miserable as a fan, but unloading that misery is a choice you make (entirely for yourself) and that affects others. What kind of impact do you want to have in this world?
"sack Arteta"

Where is Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, Tottenham(lol) etc etc.

We have not won the league in 20+ years and yet we demand Arteta to win it for us or he is shit. Muppets.

Some fans deserves the golden age with Mustafi, Squillaci, Liechtensteiner all over again.

Ultimately, there are those who count their football happiness with trophies. We have won around 10% of our top flight seasons (13 times out of 120). That means you will be happy every 1 out of 10 seasons. That’s up to you.

There it is. We’d been going into the last games with a blade wound hidden under our armour and it finally proved too much. As a fan, one always tried to find a way, but this season from hell has caught up with us. I don’t think you can see it any other way than pride at how long we kept going.

I love this team. I really really do. But we do shoot like absolute donkeys this season.

What a shit show this season has been 😅

It’s certainly not all dandy for the Reds at the moment. Could it really be happening? The thing is that we are SO depleted now that we are TOTAL underdogs. Which means Liverpool messing it up now would be a little embarrassing, which adds to the pressure.
Loss against Plymouth.
Draw against Everton.
Lucky win and season worst second half against Wolves at Anfield.
Draw against Aston Villa.

Its crumbling. 🫡

Can’t help but be so happy to see Arsène every time. I’m glad we have Arteta as I genuinely didn’t think it would be possible to find a manager who’d represent Arsenal as well as Wenger did. Particularly after Unai. Mikel has a long way to go yet, but glad we have him.
Mr. Wenger gives his thoughts on the Premier League title race:

Brilliant video by The Different Knock (as per usual) about the feasibility of Isak joining in the summer. I’m not going to give Scholes the space in this convo as every Fergie player is so biased it’s unreal, but there was even less of a chance of us getting Rice than Isak, IMO.
Isak to Arsenal is SERIOUS.

Hey people, how do we feel about the club’s more problematic sponsorship deals? I’m pretty sure the general thinking for football clubs is: ‘fans want signings at all cost’ so the criteria for going in bed with a brand are quite loose. Socios even sells bad crypto back to fans…
