Abou’s Left Leg
@aboudia.bsky.social
Arsenal FC fan since I can remember (25+ years). The poetry of football vs. the downward spiral of pub punditry.

Good riddance to 24/25

OK I didn’t want to believe it. But there is no looking away anymore:

Arsenal have been hit with dark voodoo from another realm 🧙

OK, maybe this is not fine.

Scuse me mate, who are you again?

Could not have said it better myself! @amylawrence.bsky.social: you’ve always been a source of inspiration when it comes to analysis and this is no different. Video by Insidearsenalfc. (In 2 parts since Bsky has 60s limit 🎞️🧵)

Getting punished for being angry at a decision that was proven to be completely rubbish? My brain is literally melting 🧠🫠

As much as I feel Chido Obi-Martin was a question of $$$ as his pathway to striker position at Arsenal was fairly clear, imagine having to displace Big Gabi and Saliba 🫣 All the best, Hayden.

That look 👀😅

OK so, they’ve not been perfect (it’s impossible to ever be) BUT have you all noticed how we did not get any outrageously bad decisions in the CL? I know it’s quite a simplistic conclusion to say ‘they’re better’ BUT can it not just be that PGMOL are just very, very badly managed?

Fabrizio Romano (as legit as you can get) is now saying Cunha will NOT sign a new deal and can leave in next two weeks. IMO a super, super option for us to compensate Saka + Jesus injury. In case Trossard leaves next summer, would be option for LH whilst allowing us to go for a proper CF if we can.

Oh hello @arsenalfc.bsky.social 👋❤️
January 21, 2025 at 3:00 PM
Alright, almost game time again. Feels like it never stops at the moment, huh! Having said that, you wouldn’t know by the doom and gloom, but we’re in a fairly good position and playing two fairly winnable games (Dinamo+Girona). Going straight thru to the next round would be a big help for PL.

I know this isn’t Arsenal-related but David Lynch was a real maverick, one that felt ‘new’ was the way forward, one that truly didn’t let other people’s opinions get in the way. Too many aim to get there by turning rigid and cold, but Lynch had empathy until the end. A true free spirit.

HA! Look at who’s on TV. Think you can imagine how that went 😜

Partey had hardly been injured before arriving (just for reference, he started playing in 2012). T’is the Arsenal curse 🧙🦵

We were all Martin that day. Looking forward to Ruud coming to the Grove as a manager.

Honestly, guys 😄

I don’t know about you, but it seems every single United fan on here is so sour of not contending for anything at the moment that they snap at the smallest things. So in honour of that, here is a flashback to winning the FA cup against United with Vieira’s last kick for Arsenal.

Nobody is denying Brighton have been up for it against us this year. But Saliba literally touches the ball, mate. Maybe you’ve been hurt before but pretty sure you’d be pissed if that happened to your team if you were in the hunt for something (Europe, top 4, whatever) and that decision cost you.
January 5, 2025 at 10:33 AM
What the hell are you on about? Saliba touches the ball BEFORE touching Pedro. Following your logic, tackles would be a thing of the past. Change of trajectory of the ball following Saliba’s challenge definitely enough for it to be deemed a good tackle had it been on the floor.
January 5, 2025 at 10:21 AM
If it had been ‘on the ground’, Saliba’s touch of the ball (which changes the ball’s trajectory enough) would’ve made it a ‘good challenge’. On top of which, clash-of-heads are usually never given as penalties. What if Saliba had also gone to ground there? That’s the point.
January 5, 2025 at 10:18 AM
VAR’s check was done in 3s. They obviously didn’t didn’t check all the angles and missed the fact Saliba touched the ball. If you still think it’s a penalty then, I wonder what you’re doing chatting about football at all, dear Michael.
