I think I’ll always prefer the grittiness and horror of the original predator movies, but Badlands is out there doing its own thing and it’s a lot of fun and that’s awesome.

Truly, we all win if regular people think less like economists and more like the prison journalist who writes poems about butterflies.

The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

Every Friday as a kid, my dad would come home with a new Goosebumps, and man did I look forward to that. Predator was an early obsession too, and when I found out about AvP crossover? So cool. No idea what happened to my copies over the years, but glad I could find these.

@mystgalaxybooks.bsky.social dunno if you field questions like this here, but thought I’d try: do you all know of any writing groups or workshops in SD suitable for beginner fiction writers?

Hey, reading is not a spectator sport. It's active rugby. It's capoeira. It's each brain cell doing jeet kune do. It plays in the rain, in the mud, in the snow or on the sunniest day of a flower-filled year, but it does so with a wild smile on its face knowing nothing will stop it. Power forward.
A must-read from @zzclaybourne.bsky.social on the importance of books, and how they change you.
