the Carter Center is funded by the same country that is trying to destabilize Venezuela which includes USAID—a notorious CIA cutout that used so-called “humanitarian flights” to send weapons to the far-right Contra death squads in Nicaragua in the 1980s. People’s racism is showing.
um yes except he was not democratically elected, the other guy was. www.cartercenter.org/stories/cent...

Like, we understand our story - this is clearly a horrible power grab. but make sure to make the effort to understand the complexities of the story there too, pls.
Center Finds Democracy Thwarted in Venezuela
According to The Carter Center, the election did not meet international standards, and the results did not reflect the will of the people.

On October 16, ICE pulled up to a neighborhood in Oxnard in an attempt to kidnap more people. They faced resistance from organizers with VC Defensa. Here is a clip of my interview with Leo Martinez, who was T-boned by the ICE vehicle 👇

Trump’s military aggression towards Venezuela is a modern-day foreign policy first created in 1823— the Monroe Doctrine. The White House aims to overthrow the Venezuelan government to steal its oil. We must resist Trump’s war at home & abroad.

the Trump administration has sanctioned the Russian government more than any other admin. US imperialism doesn’t have any friends.
He doesn’t want to go to war with russia as he adores putin, but he wants to split the world into ownership by the US, russia and china. I’d read about it a while ago and it makes sense. He likes Xi too. Not saying he couldn’t change his mind, but he puts russia above the US already.

We need a large anti-war movement. Trump and the Pentagon are not going to stop with Venezuela. They want to strangle Cuba, overthrow Nicaragua, and go to war with China and Russia.

In October, I attended the @empirefiles.bsky.social LA film premiere for their new documentary, Earth’s Greatest Enemy. By far, one of the most crucial topics & reporting of our lifetime. A must-watch!

For The Southlander newsletter, I wrote about the film ⬇️
For our most recent newsletter, journalist Morgan Keith spoke with Abby Martin about her documentary, "Earth's Greatest Enemy." The film chronicles how the escalation of climate catastrophes across the world are deeply entwined with the carbon footprint of the U.S. military-industrial complex.
Abby Martin’s new documentary takes aim at one of the world’s largest polluters: the U.S. military
Martin spoke with The Southlander about “Earth’s Greatest Enemy,” and her revolutionary optimism about the growing consciousness of people around the globe.

idk how one can see the destruction of Gaza +West Bank & think that a two-state solution is viable. Plus, Israeli officials are on record as saying they don’t want a 🇵🇸 state. Sanders himself said he doesn't support a one state where everyone has equal rights. How do u say NO to equal rights for all?

Or let it go from now until the rosca in early January?

Sanders couldn't call a genocide a genocide for nearly 2 years, while the world watched Palestinian children being shredded to pieces. Sanders also doesn't support a one-state solution where everyone has equal rights. J Street is no different. J Street does not call for an end to the occupation.
JStreet gave $15 million in the 2024 election cycle. If contributions and endorsements from JStreet are toxic, why do folks like Rep. Ro Khanna and Senator Bernie Sanders seek JStreet endorsement?
