"A more soporific set of headlines would be hard to write.”

That's what I told @sulliview.bsky.social about 2 stories that NYT put atop its Sunday front page, while it reduced No Kings coverage to 2 tiny photos below the fold and a story on Page 23. margaretsullivan.substack.com/p/who-cares-...

Valuable reporting here. I think the key thing is the use of Venezuela to accustom American armed forces to lawless murder. The goal then is to get them to do the same thing inside the US.

Our federal & local partnership is paying off: for the first time in city history, LA's unhoused population has decreased two years in a row.

But the job's not finished. I'll continue to do everything I can to secure federal resources to move more people indoors and bring down housing costs in LA.
Twice in a row for the first time. Los Angeles is turning a corner and seeing continued decreases in street homelessness.

We will continue bringing people inside and making sure Angelenos are housed and off the streets.

Good. President Trump's deployment of thousands of federalized National Guard troops to LA is a dangerous abuse of power intended to scare people who oppose his draconian anti-immigrant policies into silence.

This partial reversal proves what we already knew: When we fight back, we win.

The Pentagon on Tuesday announced that 2,000 National Guard troops will be sent home after an unprecedented deployment in the Los Angeles area.
