Yeah mortgage rates are twice what they were in 2019. The difference between a 3.5% rate and a 7% rate that the monthly payment is about 50% greater for a 30 year term.
Add in that housing prices have increased about 25% over the last 5 years, and that's an effective 87% increase in cost.
