88% of Republicans approve of Trump's job performance right now. It's just that everyone else hates Trump. We need Republicans to turn on Trump for something dramatic to happen.

I think they are uncomfortable with admitting that they really like Trump's authoritarianism. A lot of Trump's support came from first time voters. My sister was one of them. She didn't care about inflation, but still won't give me a real reason why she voted for him.

At the Texas Capitol maybe 10 minutes now. There is a dinosaur with a Trump/Epstein sign. Not sure whether that merits National Guard intervention or not. Other than that, observing possible need for troops to deliver cold water or little handheld fans

NEW FROM CBO: brutal distributional analysis of House GOP "Big Beautiful Bill"

On avg the bottom 30% of households get poorer under the GOP bill

Avg gets little - and are worse off if you include tariffs

This'd be the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in a single law in history

Bluesky feels incredibly busy and vibrant to me….becuase I follow a lot of people. Which you have to do here if you want to see a lot of action, because *the site has no central algorithm.*

A startling number of professional tech writers still don’t seem aware of this basic aspect of Bluesky.
Not Slate working overtime to hate on Bluesky…

I’ve never forgotten this picture from 2016 and how it completely reshaped my understanding of how the media covers protests.
But if a few people in masks start lighting stuff on fire? Then you have news. This creates an *enormous* attentional advantage towards the most violent and chaotic kind of protest.

"[Dr. King's] major assumption was that if you are nonviolent, if you suffer, your opponent will see your suffering and will be moved to change his heart. That's very good. He only made one fallacious assumption...."

This isn't true. There is definitely diversity of thought here. It just doesn't involve support for Trump. Trump is viewed negatively by vast majority of Bluesky users.
The lack of diversity of thought here is really hurting usage.
