Loughborough CA Day started out wa::y back in 2007 as a local, friendly get-together of like-minded interaction analysts.

It's now a global, friendly get-together of like-minded interaction analysts.

People fly or dial in from all over the world.

Still great fun.

#EMCA
It's nearly time for CA day!

I'm so:::::: looking forward to the **18th** year of #EMCA @darg-sessions.bsky.social @lborouniversity.bsky.social having made a tragic diary error last year and missing it.

Here's the registration link and terrific programme:

Using sci-fi to help switch off after intense writing ✍️ 👩‍💻 days and Interstellar hit really hard. I swear I was only locked away for a few hours, but even the dog seems to have aged considerably.
a man with a ring on his finger is smiling with his hand on his chin
Alt: Scene from Interstellar where main character realises he has missed 23 years of his children's lives in just a few hours.

It was so great to see you both in Linköping 😁 thanks for inspiring our brilliant researchers 🤩🗯💭👩‍💻💪

And now decompressing after an excellent workshop (and a cheeky visit to Stockholm, of course). Love it that @profsalwiggins.bsky.social managed to sneak in! DP royalty! @alexahepburn.bsky.social

Fab blog post on unpacking the notion of 'collaboration' between humans and robots, including video footage.
short blog post (with exciting video!) on our #CSCW2025 paper "Opening Up Human-Robot Collaboration", summarising our arguments about human-robot 'collaboration' (is it?)

Thanks for persisting with the research @yvonnetsecrepaldi.bsky.social and I recognise the long fermentation period. Some papers just need a bit more time to get themselves where they need to be.
Thinking that @bogdanahuma.bsky.social might also be interested in reading this too 💬🫷🧑
Delighted to share that my #resistance paper is out — with much resistance along the way 😅

The data originates from my PhD. So from ideation to data collection, and publication it took…13 years! I will be faster next time 🤞

Thanks to my mentor KK Luke #emca

Thank you @profsalwiggins.bsky.social for visiting @universityofleeds.bsky.social and for sharing your remarkable research on mealtime conversations in families and in the preschool lunch settings. So much to learn about assisted eating and what little kids are telling us about taste 😋😝

Calling #EMCA researchers interested in eating

I mean, those who research eating practices, not just those of us who eat.

If you conduct video-based, interactional analysis (think CA, DP, EMCA, linguistic anthropology) on eating in social interaction, then EatSiN might be for you. Contact me for more details!
Eating together: a family at dinner, a nurse helping a patient swallow, a teacher supervising children, a guest appreciating a high-end tasting menu...

It's all surrounded by, and regulated by, talk.
