I just want to remind everyone that a really fun, free,!ride-to-work activity is to call your least favorite senator/rep and just waste their office phone time by expounding in length about your thoughts on their job performance. I especially enjoy wasting the time of the office of #mikecollins.
How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.
Just imagining the meeting where they must have been like “they might cancel my flight? Time to kill the sick.”
agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish

A message for the senate democrats

Love discovering my flight is delayed from a 7:15 boarding to an… 11:30 boarding???? #tsa #fucktrump

Isn’t it something with turning it into a character?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Spotify is now running ICE recruitment ads. We asked them to stop. They ignored us. Let's show them what we showed Disney. No Kings, No Collaborators, No Capitulators. indivisible.org/cancel-spotify

Took the puppy on her first camping trip. 10/10 fall colors and 10/10 for exhausting the pup! She like swimming and hiking, did not enjoy having to share the tent with moms

One of us devoted a lot more time and skill to our sign but it was a great protest regardless. #noking #Georgia

Ran a half marathon, ended up with a kitten 😅 Luckily I had also randomly trapped a cat on Friday and we knew some folks looking for a pair. The cat distribution system at its best! Two fewer cats to eat the birds and create even MORE kittens.

Also good code doesn’t necessarily mean good science - and only if you know what the code is doing can you catch violations or little assumptions.

It’s also frustrating to watch students use ChatGPT and then have no idea how to tweak the code themselves for small changes 😅

Saw this one today and got so mad I almost forgot to look for the data I was trying to download

I don’t doubt people are contributing but we did this study where there is limited human pressure and no supplemental feeding. Certainly didn’t stop the coyotes from flourishing.

I, for one, am shocked that CWD is spreading in a state that is taking no active measures to prevent CWD from spreading 😂
Georgia adds Lowndes County to #CWD zone after deer tests positive within 5 miles of border

The 2.5-year-old buck was found about 5 miles from a previous detection in adjacent Lanier County.

Seeing your own research in the news is a crazy experience! We found that lethal control is not an effective strategy and coyotes are probably just the new normal. Amazing how an article can turn a lengthy study into a sound bite 😅

Coyote populations rebound faster than can be removed, UGA study says
Coyotes in the Atlanta metro? Removing them permanently may not be possible.

A colleague working through stats problems in my office just sighed and said “I hope my models aren’t as broken as I am” and I’m considering getting that as my next tattoo.

The funny thing about urban #hunting is I’ll be literally in the middle of processing a deer and over my shoulder I’ll see several more deer trying to decide if now is a good time to eat the backyard plants or not 😅

It is actually possible to reaffirm publicly one's principled opposition to political violence without expressing sympathy or even praise for those who devoted their entire lives to inciting violence and propagating the most vile forms of hatred and bigotry.
Apple is sneaking AI into everything. Turn off enhanced visual search on your photos:

The garden at our old house is flourishing, if a little chaotic. Meanwhile at the new house, the deer are eating everything, even the mint! And the hairy rattleweed!

We simply do not have to live this way.

The porch wrens have FINALLY fledged which means we can actually close our screened in porch after weeks of leaving it open while mom took care of babies. Unfortunately fledgling also required encouraging the babies to actually leave the deck 😅

Some intellectual cat photos for the day

Well the US might be rapidly approaching fascist disaster but at least I have finally labeled and hung my second case of moths!

Our integrated population model of a high density coyote population is now online! We combined data collected at irregular intervals and varying spatial scales to inform an #IPM of 18 years of #coyotes on the SRS in SC, USA. Check it out!

In the absence of red wolves (Canis rufus), coyote (Canis latrans) populations have expanded across the eastern United States. However, predator populations are particularly difficult to quantify, an...
