There’s been a lot of online discourse around this book, but I read it cover to cover today, and found it utterly brilliant?

Teaching law through Star Trek this morning.

During a class discussion of Clarence Darrow: Attorney for the Damned, entered into a very unplanned - but very fascinating - discussion of the contrasting portrayals, in literature, of Clarence Darrow (quicksilver) and Braam Fischer (saintly).

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 isn't just a good game, it's excellent science fiction storytelling.

This should be one of the frontrunners for next year's Hugo Award for Best Game.

Want to feel feelings today, time to inject an @aptshadow.bsky.social novel into the bloodstream.

PS. The novelette also has a sentient octopus.

Happy writing news: just signed a contract with Interzone Mag for my novelette, “The Five Languages of Grief,” an SF story at the intersection of imperialism and extraction.

It will come out in a future Interzone issue, so watch this space! Couldn’t be happier for it to have found a home here.

As always, remember to subscribe if you’d like this in your inbox fortnightly.

A little late, but here’s the first November issue of Words for Worlds, the F-SF newsletter with an Indian slant.

This issue feat. reading Han Kang, re-reading Ann Leckie, (still) reading Alastair Reynolds, Between Worlds updates, and more:

Last one for the night.

Went away for some drafting, but here’s the latest update.

More progress.

(I really need to get back to my day job).

Finally got around to finishing this. Will have to sit with it for a long time.

Progress.

Spent the evening assembling this miniature bookstore. TBC.

😂😂😂 being the local author should get you at least some perks. 😬
