#xscale
okay yaaay it worked :) turns out i had to actually use image xscale by itself in the step event instead of draw event
he eats now
now i can be free to figure out how he eats these things

Meanwhile, the Xscale Photonics acquisition opens the door to optical connectivity — an entirely new growth vector likely to materialize in 2028–2029.

ARM had a numbering scheme for the CPU that increased, while the architecture incremented more slowly. The older CPU I ever touched in the mobile space was ARM7, which was ARMv4T (T for Thumb mode, to save precious NOR flash and RAM bytes). ARM9 is also v4T. XScale is ARMv5TE. ARM11 is ARMv6.

*left to right movement
*running
*flipping the xscale when passing one another
*hitboxes
*triple button attack that stops depending on how many times the button is pressed
*number values for each button press (combos wouldn't work without them)

Intel XScale
August 19, 2025 at 11:07 AM
yeah, intel sold the interesting part, xscale, off in 2006 iirc so what would they gain? they are certainly not hungering for xeons ...

I get it! And not trying to quibble with your overall point, AI can be a time saver for things like this, and I would have done the same if I were you.

But, there's still something about appreciating handcrafted LaTeX/Tikz ...

Day 193 - #retrorandom - Ah, the time before the iPhone - when this little beauty, with a VGA display, 416 Mhz Xscale CPU and best of all, a tiny 4GB hard drive, all running Linux, was the state of the art! It's a Sharp Zaurus SL-C6000 😍

the iAPX 432, the i960 and i860, XScale, IA-64? all half-hearted failures. they always ended up milking x86 for way more than it was ever worth, using their manufacturing edge to kill superior architectures for decades. good riddance, you greedy jerks www.oregonlive.com/silicon-fore...
Intel’s CEO: ‘We are not in the top 10’ of leading chip companies
"I think is too late for us" to catch up with Nvidia's position in AI, said Lip-Bu Tan. But he said Intel has other opportunities in the field.

July 9, 2025 at 1:40 PM

#GameMaker tip of the day: if you wanna refer to the "forwards" direction of an object in a platformer and you already use image_xscale to turn it left/right, just use "90 - image_xscale*90".
(Use sign(image_xscale) instead if you use values other than -1 and +1 for xscale)

Really?! To be honest, I’m not 100% sure off the top of my head, but if I had to guess, I would not be surprised if it’s an ancient ARM architecture, or one of those little low power x86 “XScale” chips Intel used to produce for Wyse and other Thin Clients. I’ll some research here hehe... 🙂

so far my "if in doubt, chuck a dollar sign on it" approach to svelte is working well
