Toad as a host *can* work, they did it in the first games and in Mario Party 4, and he was fun there alongside the Mario Party 4 enemies, but I also love having a variety of hosts who brought their own mannerisms and dialogue flavors to the game, like Toadsworth and MC Ballyhoo.

Toad as a host *can* work, they did it in the first games and in Mario Party 4, and he was fun there alongside the Mario Party 4 enemies, but I also love having a variety of hosts who brought their own mannerisms and dialogue flavors to the game, like Toadsworth and MC Ballyhoo.
Peach, Daisy, and Rosa work well as a trio. Toad, Toadette and Toadsworth would be obvious. Idk who Mario and Luigi’s third would be… maybe Yoshi?

Yeah, I totally agree they're still good games. Like, we still had characters like Toadsworth and Dr. Toadley and the Starshade Bros that kept their original designs. I'm annoyed that the incidental NPCS got less interesting-looking in the remakes, but that's not a deal breaker. They are still good.

And I don't see those as deal breakers since they clearly weren't a mandated brand thing (Toadsworth still survived, and even in classic PM most unique Toads had names and there were still plenty of generic ones without names)

And I don't think the minority of sanitized designs in the M&L remakes is relevant AT ALL since it was for budget reasons and not mandate reasons. If Toadsworth was able to survive, I can easily assume good faith on the designs that did get more basic.

Decided to go back and rework that old Mario Kart roster I drew a year back before Mario Kart World got announced.
Obviously still more of a dream roster than a prediction (if the RPG characters didn't make that obvious), but eh I can dream.
