Two years ago, we took Minna home with us. She was scared, took to hiding, and we wondered if she would be happy in her new home.

Minna spent her day in my office today, getting pats, sleeping in her little bed by my desk, a happy cat.

He was about the best cat I have ever known. We are so lucky he graced us with his presence for nearly 17 years.

My cat Tarzan the Maine Coon, sitting on a wooden stair banister. He is so large a cat not all his feet fit on it, and one front paw is dropped off to make room. Centered behind him on the wall, is a large circular painting of a winged heart in primary colors, which gives an optical illusion the cat has a halo and wings. Tarzan was an extra large extra superfloof grey and white tuxedo cat. He was exceptionally friendly, loving, sweet, and gentle for a giant of his size. In this photo he is close to about 25 pounds. The pic is from about 2013 or so. I love him so much. He is missed. RIP Tarzan. Hope you are playing with catnip mice forever, across the rainbow bridge.

I miss my buddy. The house is already so quiet without him

Tarzan used to follow me from room to room, like a dog.

When I had dogs, he would follow us around the block for each potty break, several times a day

My beautiful sweet Tarzan the Maine Coon, who left us last night after a sharp decline in health over the last few weeks. He was nearly 17 years old. My beautiful big boy cat, Tarzan the Maine Coon. Tarzan was an extra large extra superfloof grey and white tuxedo cat with a white blaze, ruff, belly, and socks, a pink nose, golden eyes, and faint tabby stripes in his long fur. In this pic he is laying on soft bedding and looking to camera. He was about the best, friendliest, and most doglike cat I have ever known. He graced us with almost 17 years of pure joy and love. In June he began having serious health complications. His decline was fast but he loved life, treats, and catnip mice to the very end. The love and joy he brought was as outsized as his massive frame, which at his peak of life and health was roughly 25 pounds. Hail the goer. His name is Tarzan the Maine Coon. He is loved and he is missed. RIP.

A yellow double window has a window seat with a pet cushion, where my cat Jane The Magnificent is sleeping, almost unseen, through sheer gold yellow swirl vine pattern curtains, which are tucked between the seat, and a chaise set right up next to it, creating sort of a curtain tent over her. My othe cat Tarzan the Maine Coon is reclining on a dark brown pet towel set over the chaise, with his fur slightly wet, close, and damp, from a bath he just had. Both cats are seniors, and Tarzan is in decline and needs help to keep his fur clean, so he gets small baths and lots of treats for it in return, on the regular. Jane is a silver grey tortoiseshell tabby, and Tarzan is a larger grey and white tuxedo superfloof. The two cats are sweethearts who have been bonded nearly all their lives. Tarzan is 16 and Jane is 17. Every day with them is a joy. The window has 3 disco balls and a string of disco ball lights, which catch afternoon sun when it’s not cloudy, as it is today. Just a chill happy Sunday with my 2 sweet old kitty cats

My cat Tarzan the Maine Coon, loafing on a pet cushion on the window seat of a sunny, double yellow window. Tarzan is a large extra superfloof grey & white cat with golden eyes, a pink nose, white ruff, blaze, belly and socks, plus faint tabby stripes in his long fur. The window has layers or red and gold sheer patterned swirl vine curtains open to one side. A beige chaise is right up next to the window seat. It’s hidden from view, but there’s a pet safe heating pad under the cushion Tarzan is on. He’s an ailing senior kitty and it really helps his old bones this time of year. A disco ball, two smaller disco ball planters, and a string of mini disco ball lights are hanging above in the sash, to reflect afternoon & sunset light. The sun is almost low enough to hit them. When they sparkle I call it the magic hour, and the whole room gets splashes of dots of light from floor to ceiling
