Now, again, don’t get me wrong: unserious work is important. I love it. But there is a sense where homogenization via coziness as an aesthetic and affective enforcement protocol creates a stagnancy. A re-capitulation of the old cable tv problem: 300 channels and there is nothing on.

Whole point of using evil amazon is prompt delivery, but Belgian amazon's delivery service says they couldn't "locate" an address (which bpost, bol, coolblue, nl amazon etc have no trouble finding) & my attempt to redirect to a pick-up point has resulted in "on hold" stagnancy. JFC.

another twist to my POV on the Cultural Stagnancy Debate: a friend just posted this article, and while it makes a lot of familiar points (design and culture has gotten repetitive, flattened out and conformist), I think what's worth examining is that one culprit is bottom-line capitalism

Also isn’t Endo not so much denying the catholicity of Catholicism but criticizing the provincialism, conservatism, and stagnancy of Japanese culture? At least that was my read of the book and film.

well, crisis just becomes, "something that is not the least productive state for change." that might be more preferable to an audience, over stagnancy, over malaise, over an uncertain dissolution of purpose. skip to the end, and make it worse. is our time not limited enough for that.

And steer clear of those who are, their stagnancy can be contagious.

Stagnancy will suffocate a business… Leadership must be dynamic and evolving to ensure successful growth, enhancement, and longevity.

working on some fiction again. just desperately need to envision a future where Everything Works Out. It's gonna all hurt so bad but god the hurt of Change is so much better than the terrible stagnancy

my personal problem with the way people talk about art these days is that i'll hear someone reference a movie with "unending amounts of soul, stunning artistry" that's a "lonely cry of creative brilliance in a time of stagnancy" and then they're talking about a movie for kids

it's so absurdly frustrating to understand that the general ideal for most of the internet is to promote stagnancy and aggression out of people when they find community, and most people get too distracted to properly recognize and address it in them.

I think it's entirely possible to think that the US economy is overleveraged on AI, and that the German economy is a fucking trainwreck of stagnancy, bureaucracy and underinvestment.

The idea of that kind of mandated stagnancy is just horrifying

It'll be hard for sure, but better than this stagnancy were stuck in.

And we will *own* it. It will be our home. We millenials might actually get to own a home!

I'm so thankful for this new energy coming into my life.🥰

For way too long, I felt like I was being forced into stagnancy.😞

It turned out that was actually kind of true, but not in the way I expected.🤕

I'm so glad to be rid of those things that were holding me in place.🙏

my reasoning is more mundane: the world is only as wonderful as it is because people eventually die and new life, new perspectives, enter the great canvas of existence

if immortality were real, that wouldn't happen. just pure stagnancy. a billion years of Disney live action movies.

I can also partly relate to the feeling of stagnancy since I'm still writing my thesis. I started my studies when I was 26 but after a few years boooom covid hit and that really messed up my studies and life tbh. I also started freelancing back then and it was challenging to merge it with my studies

We probably WOULD be driving flying cars if there wasn't a 500 yr stagnancy in science

The hoverboards we all want? Yeah, them too...but we can't have nice things because christians can't help but to bumble along and fuck shit up for everyone

You see it's just like in Final Fantasy 14, cause with the balance of stagnancy and growth in the Umbral and Astral eras--- (people start to leave the auditorium)
Actual genuine 30 year old advice here: You need to have a little bit of dumb bravery in your life if you want to get anything done, you can't somehow find the perfect route through your life that avoids risk by being excessively careful, you take massive losses from this

Weekly Tarot Pull

Two of Cups - true partnership, balance of roles

The Star reversed - hopeless, cold and distant.

Death reversed- stagnancy, no growth just rot and decay
