112. Paranatural: Spirit Stackers (2025)
Paranatural es uno de mis webcomics favoritos, y descubrir que alguien le ha hecho un fangame que es un juego de puzzles de esos que tanto me gustan me tiene dando volteretas. Y la verdad es que está bastante bien. A pesar de que tiene parecidos con otros juegos de puzzles (principalmente Puzzle Fighter, que también está en esta lista), tiene un estilo de gameplay bastante original, con una mecánica de tira y afloja que valora todos los tipos de combinaciones de manera muy equilibrada. A veces el fuego necesario para romper bloques no va hacia donde quieres que vaya, pero fuera de eso es muy entretenido. Al ser un juego para una GameJam tampoco tiene mucho, pero me encantaría que se expandiera para meter a más personajes del cómic y una historia. Ah, y los gráficos chibi son muy bonitos.

Chris, Jairaj, and I wanted to let you know that we've heard and have been listening to all the views being expressed about how Substack should think about the presence of fringe voices on the platform (and particularly, in this case, Nazi views). liust want to make it clear that we don't like Nazis either-we wish no-one held those views. But some people do hold those and other extreme views. Given that, we don't think that censorship (including through demonetizing publications) makes the problem go away- in fact, it makes it worse.

I'm gonna lean real hard into the concerned parent angle now. As a demographic, the school board stackers and censors don't speak for me. Someone here had a post about appealing to right-wing lawmakers with things they're more likely to accept, and this is gonna be my schtick.
