Homemade Chili
(Be warned: my cooking is inspired by the Ratatouille movie🤣)

Chili from scratch: note! my sauce comes from using 2-3 Roma tomatoes And the ground meat and spices mix added later(Chili powder, Masa flour, cumin, cayenne, turmeric*) Pinto beans precooked in the pressure cooker. Move to Stock Pot! and add diced tomato, onion, garlic, finely diced bell pepper. (A precooked smoked-neckbone is an option I tried this time.. the meat shreads and adds body and flavor) All slow simmered. 😎Other seasoning added while cooking: 2 squirts of mustard(instead of vinegar), a couple of ozs. of Black coffee, sage, lemon pepper, salt, "slap your mama" or Tony's seasoning. *Oil soluble spices precooked on low heat in a little oil Add in room temp ground chuck and brown it well!(food safety) Add seasoning and meat to the simmering beans.

My employer isn't exactly sympathetic to people calling in sick because of the common cold—not many firms in the City are. Stressing over the tasks that would pile up if I missed a couple days of work would probably slow down the recovery process, anyway. I want to say Ash was there for me all weekend, making me soup and bringing me tea, but all he did was pop out to buy cold and flu capsules and order food at each mealtime. Normally, I wouldn't be bothered that he left me to my own devices—I've been independent since my parents died—but stupidly, I wanted Ash to—waited for him to-take care of me.
