The Canadian Government is a natural resource company that enslaves and extorts its citizens as they best assuage the desires of the United States Government. Committing high treason and conspiracy simply out of convenience and delusional trade-off logic between profit and human rights.

I watched my hometown paper, The Baltimore Sun, be gutted by ruthless out-of-town owners seeking only profit.

Those hedge funds and hacks are awful, but they follow a (cold, heartless) logic.

What is Bezos doing? Why earn billions then buy a paper if not to save it? How much $ is enough?
A publisher who lays off a reporter whose pen is freezing because she's covering a frigid war zone while dodging missiles is not an editor you want to work for, in a more perfect world

As DiIorio warned in his filings, energy‑intensive infrastructure—data centers, AI compute, and crypto mining—makes an ideal “physical cover” for massive digital money flows that don’t match traditional profit‑and‑loss logic.

Today’s layoffs at the Washington Post should not be understood in a vacuum.

News outlets nationwide have suffered for decades under a profit-maximizing logic that ignores the media’s civic role as a trusted messenger.

This is related to the AI-company CEO logic of "But if we couldn't steal the work of everyone in human history we wouldn't be able to turn a profit! Get real, people!"
February 3, 2026 at 9:37 PM
Uhhhhh this is questionable logic. The guy owns the paper. If he gets more subscribers presumably his losses would be less, or he might even turn a profit. That *also* supports the journalists (who do great work I have a friend that used to be there, I love the reporting). These are inseparable

I don't understand the logic of using all excess $ to seize the freedoms of people who were contributing to then use their labor to let ICE profit off of. How on earth are they doing things responsible people who live among other people DO, you ask? Health insurance protects CITIZENS. CAR INS TOO.

What’s the profit in the business or have white folk just abandoned all logic?
Top Trump CDC official claims the U.S. losing its measles elimination status would be "the cost of doing business"

I think your logic is right on the nose, but I also think there are two other related factors driving it all:

1. For profit prisons
2. Re-establishment of slavery

There is no logic at work here, these are cynical attempts at hyping up the "AI" bubble for short term profit. And then the first layer of losers below that (C-suite, decision makers...) is drinking the Kool-Aid.
Then you have the second layer of losers, making worthless "AI" projects like sheeps.

Why would China ban hockey? Would that somehow profit them? Because of Heated Rivalry? Just trying to find some logic somewhere here lol.

Research shows 100 fossil fuel and cement producers are linked to about 71%~ of global industrial greenhouse gas emissions between 1988 and 2015. The climate crisis is not an accident. It is the logic of the capitalist market, where profit is prioritized over human need. #Anticapitalist #Socialism

Social media platforms have a 7–12 year lifespan before profit logic hollows them out. Growth stalls, ads explode, feeds rot, trust dies. Build audiences off platforms or accept you’re farming on rented land for capital. #PlatformDecay #DigitalSerfdom

‘The problem isn’t AI itself; it’s the current economic logic behind it.
… It’s the result of an economic model that treats technology as an extractive industry… The AI arms race is driven not by innovation, but by domination, favoring profit over humanity.‘

Not sure it's a decision as much as their inability to think through the outcomes of their actions

They are operating on underwear gnome logic:

Step 1: Meet brown people arrest quota

Step 2: ???

Step 3: Profit

I must be too simple to understand the logic here.

My water company last announced an increased operating profit of £496.5 million, but my bill has to go up again because they spent years underinvesting in their own infrastructure?

Water bills to rise again: Use our tool to find out by how much

Ha. Logic of BNG. Thou shalt build, build, build. Oh and here is a bat box in exchange for ancient woodland, other habitats, and species.
Nature in severe decline. Profit from units, not homes.

Even logic and conversation are really just forms of trading, and as in all things, humans will always try to seek their own best advantage, to seek the greatest profit they can from the exchange.

"You'll get more conservative as you get older", was just right-wing logic for actually being able to insert yourself into the broken system as your tiny profit allowed you basic necessities.
You would defend a broken system too once you're fully-invested with everything to lose right???

It’s difficult to take you seriously when your argument has no foundation in logic. Do you even know what happens in the dairy industry? It IS a slaughter industry. Those that support it either profit from it or just enjoy consuming dairy products, regardless of the consequences for the animals.

And that's why the Butlerian impulse you see so often here on bluesky isn't true Luddism. It's simply containment logic:

If there's even a chance of atrocity: stop
If there's chance of mystification-for-profit: stop
If the discourse itself makes evaluation impossible: stop

Why did Google Search degrade so much?

Google had captured 90% of the search market and couldn’t grow further. Rather than accept plateau, executives chose degradation as a growth mechanism. Money talks, and profit-driven logic prevailed over engineering integrity.

btw it's the same logic with Musk removing expensive lidar sensors from "self driving" Teslas to increase profit

"we'll make more money and nothing bad will happen to us so why not"

(Teslas still randomly leap across roads to avoid shadows
at full speed because they do not have lidar, only visual)

Why not? They wouldn’t “play for homefield advantage” if the league didn’t allow it. And the ONLY reason they do is owner’s profit. Period.

By what reasoning or logic is impact-proven crowd-support “fair” or competitive?
