When I run reactions for the synthesis of photoswitches and collect data for the characterization studies, I am mostly working in the lab. Once data collection is done, for analysis, I am turning my desk in the office to work with my laptop.

Merve: I am working with molecules that can respond to light. That means when we shine light on them, they absorb the specific wavelength and use that energy for their transformation. That’s why, we are calling them photoswitches. They can be imagined as light switches.
