Parasol Heights; a township floating in the skies, with an extensive weather factory to serve it in this unique environment. Now, the factory itself has turned against the heights, with both outside help and creatures from the clouds making a mess of this torrent-riddled town.
Paper and pencil drawings of video game esque designs, for enemies and NPCs occupying a themed world. The world is Parasol Heights, a city of floating chunks in the sky, with a giant umbrella overhead, topped with a tower. The skies are clear but rain pours from the umbrella itself. Frontliners- floating line creatures, based on the depiction of cold and warm fronts on weather maps Wispos- small cloud creature with big toony eyes and a big cloud moustache, holding up its electrified finger. Hailhounds- squareish dog with floating, separated hands and feet; made out of ice. It opens its mouth to shoot coness of hail and frost. Covercoats- NPC, floating raincoats that wear hats. No wearer inside, just shadow. Sonny Day - miniboss, a cyborg lightning bug mercenary. He has sunglasses, a big toony gun, and a giant lightbulb abdomen. Weatherbulb- boss, a giant lightbulb robot with four mechanical tube limbs, each one able to emit weather-themed elements.

A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of a brain-like creature floating in a tank of green fluid. The brain surface has a texture like snake scales, or maybe holes. There are two holes on either side, like maybe ears? The brain has large eyes, is looking upward, and has a sad expression. Long pink and purple neuronal wires hang down, twisted around each other. The tank has a grey metal base with speakers, fastened with gold rivets. The top is also grey metal and gold rivets, with lights set into the interior top, allowing us the see the alien brain, and the glow of the green fluid. The brain appears to be in a cave, or perhaps a stone building with no windows. It is dark behind the tank. Why was the brain left behind? No one knows. It is very sad. A marker, ink, & paint pen drawing with overlaid digital lettering, in the style of a 1950s pulp paperback. My OC, The Alien Brain (a brown brain creature with long neural fibers, two of which they use as hands, in a tank of fluorescent yellow-green fluid), is holding a big red book titled “Evil for Dummies”, peering over the top edge at the species they made, green squid-head beings with no arms, little bat wings & red eyes. Unfortunately, The Alien Brain used Spite instead of Spice in the mix, & they are all evil. 9 squids are visible; they are all wearing blue robes that are decorated with gold sigils. Top left back, Squid 1 has a bottle of orange liquid & a corkscrew. Squid 2 is holding a bottle of purple fluid and a pamphlet: “How to be Evil”. Squid 3 is behind the tank, their tentacles spread on the glass. Squid 4 is white, with hollow eyes. Squids 5 & 6 are looking at each other, 5 showing 6 a book titled “Evil for Fun and Profit”. Front right, Squid 7 is blushing, eyes closed, at Squid 8 on their left, who has a sign reading “BAD = YES!”. Front left, Squid 9 has a yellow button that reads “Ask me about EVIL!”. On the back right wall is a white poster: “EVIL A Mantra A Philosophy A Lifestyle A Lecture Series! *Evil for fun and profit! *Free yourself from Brain! *Revenge without arms! *Unchaining your morality! Tuesdays, 3am, or else!”. Center top, my OCs, The Watchers (winged creatures with no faces) are huddled, hiding, on top of The Brain’s tank. The one on the right is saying “I’m sure we’ll be fine…”. To the left of the tank is the hand lettered book description: “ The Twisted Creations of an Alien Brain! Held captive… Until one FOUND A LAWYER!”. The title is digitally overlaid on the image, a shaded rectangle surrounding the title: “THE PHONE CALL OF CTHULHU”, and “Laura Mellin Atelier” underneath. At the top, a digital review reads: “No, seriously, what the hell is this book about?! - The Daily Post”. A pencil, marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of The Alien Brain’s Axolotl friends, pink smiling axolotl-like creatures with huge black eyes. Our Axolotl here is wearing blue overalls and a green painter’s cap. They are holding a green cloth in one hand and a bucket of blue fluid in the other. On the bucket is written “❤️ BRAIN”. The Alien Brain tank is in the left background, with the fluid glowing fluorescent yellow. On the right in the background, another pink creature identical to the first is walking off the right side of the page. The Axolotl friends love the Alien Brain, so they built a religion around keeping the outside of the tank shiny, because they just love the Alien Brain so much!! This love was NOT intentional! The Brain does not want worshippers, just company, but after the disastrous first experiment that resulted in the Spite Squids, the Brain was skittish, and added too much Nice. (The Axolotls developed their adoration as an entirely independent sentient species; the Brain encourages critical thinking.) The Axolotls write terrible poetry, and give weekly poetry readings. The Alien Brain still considers this an improvement over the previous experiment. A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of my OC, The Sad Alien Brain, a brown brain-like creature with long nerve-like fibers hanging down, floating in a tall glass tank filled with fluorescent greenish-yellow fluid, reading a book to their Axolotl-like attendants. The brain is wearing a pair of gold glasses, and is holding a red book in their long pink neuronal wire fibers. The book is “Paul Clifford” by Edward Bulwer-Lytton, which is the book that starts with the famous line “It was a dark and stormy night.”. The Axolotls are pink, with brighter pink gills and darker pink spots on their bodies, and they are wearing blue overalls, with their tails sticking out of a hole in the back. They are all sitting, cross-legged, in a half-circle around the front of the Brain’s tank, holding books, and smiling at the brain. They all have huge black oval eyes with light points, and their noses are reflecting the yellow-green of the tank lights (they’re shiny!). One Axolotl, on the right, is staring at their book, which is upside down. Oops! Behind the tank is the cavern wall, in the shadows; on the left, is a bucket, and mop leaning against a red lettered poster that says “KNOW YOUR CLEANING FLUID!”, with a picture of a cartoon Axolotl at the top right, and a red “NO!” over a bottle of ammonia next to a bottle of bleach (don’t mix these!). On the right of the tank, there is a barrel of “Industrial Glass Cleaner”, but the label is partially turned so that the first two letters in “glass” are not visible. This was done by my OCs, The Watchers (small interdimensional mouse-like creatures in robes, whose faces are not visible), one of whom has their head propped on their elbows, leaning on the barrel. The other Watcher is peeking out from behind the left side of the barrel. Above them is a white poster with blue lettering and a pink border that says “BOOK CLUB! Tuesdays! Read along with the BRAIN.”. This is a very silly drawing, and a very long alt text.

Was motivated to draw again after hitting up art spots yesterday(and playing Digimon). I still prefer drawing with pencil over digital art, even though I've done digital for a while. I think I just have better control/speed when Im drawing the old fashioned way.
