Wikipedia en Náhuat de El Salvador ha sido oficialmente aprobada
Con enorme alegría y profundo orgullo se anunció que la Wikipedia en Náhuat de El Salvador ha sido oficialmente aprobada por el Comité de Lenguas de Wikipedia.
Este logro es el resultado de tres años de trabajo constante y realizado de manera colectiva por maestras y maestros, estudiantes comprometidos y, sobre todo, por los abuelitos y las abuelitas nahuahablantes, guardianes vivos de la lengua y la memoria.
Para Josué Martínez, director de Timumachtikan Nawat, no es un logro menor, pues muy pocas lenguas indígenas en el mundo cuentan con su propia Wikipedia.
Al atikamekw, guaraní, quechua, náhuatl y el wayuu, hoy se les suma el náhuat de El Salvador, convirtiéndose en un referente de resistencia, dignidad y reconstrucción cultural en espacios virtuales.
Con esta aprobación, el proyecto Timumachtikan Nawat se convierte en pionero por ser la primera Wikipedia en una lengua indígena de Centroamérica y ser una de las pocas Wikipedias en lenguas indígenas en todo el continente americano.

For albums, my favorite is Moctezuma by Porter (mexican indie rock band), the album is all about the invasion of the spanish, and the nahuat/aztec people rebuilding their lives and finding identity/hope in the aftermath

If you claim to be a PH Spanish speaker but use the academic variety, purged of sailor/pirate talk & native words from PH langs like Tagalog, Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Ilocano, Pangasinan, Kapampangan, indigenous Mesoamerican languages like Nahuat, w & Malayo-Portuguese & Hokkien, that’s not PH Spanish.
Because honestly, is it even Philippine Spanish (NOT CHAVACANO, but the native pre-WWII Philippine Spanish dialect) if you’re not using archaic 17th century Latin American Spanish mixed with Malayo-Portuguese expressions, Hokkien, and a tonne of words from Nahuat and native Philippine languages?!

That’s the thing about dictionaries, I suppose. They need great editing and scrutiny. I suppose the current dictionary’s interest may have been more focused on presenting something.
