The irony is that the alternative to elite deference politics is left-wing populism in the vein of Zohran, Bernie, and AOC -- which is a pretty diverse stage in and of itself and also relies on a multiracial and multigender coalition, but with actual *democratic* substance.

Honestly I don't know if it's even possible to be concise considering all the potential factors. Like of course cis men are excluded but what about trans men? What about masc nonbinaries, or trans mascs who don't identify as men? What about multigender people who are both men and not?

exactly! The options are there and should always be there, that's a discussion between you and your doctor. It's giving "men controlling what women do to their bodies" but on a multigender scale unfairly targeting trans folx

When I was writing the Vaurians I didn't realize that I was genderfluid/multigender myself, but now I understand I was playing with a fantasy of being able to own that fluidity and make it easily visible - which I find difficult to do irl with a non-shapeshifting body and limited fashion sense.

I am genderstatic but polygender and fluid in expression, and I have accessed some aspects of medical transition, but I feel a deep kinship with genderfluid and all sorts of multigender folk. And yeah we aren't typically liked by transmed folks either.
