The greatest RPG I’ve ever played and my favorite game of all time. Chrono Trigger is a timeless masterpiece that teaches its players a valuable lesson: your future starts with you, and the choices you make along the way will undoubtedly change the flow of time, not just for you, but for your loved ones as well. Always strive to make things right, for a brighter tomorrow is always worth fighting for. The adventure is beautiful and the pacing of its events is simply perfect; there won’t be a single moment where the game feels like it drags on or pads its length. Chrono Trigger is a relatively short experience, and by the time you reach the end, you’ll be wishing for more. The majestic soundtrack composed by the good ol’ Yasunori Mitsuda will have you emotionally invested from the moment you boot up the game, graced by that lovely ticking clock on the title screen, followed by a skyward view of Crono’s hometown as the kingdom’s bell resounds across the land What else can I say other than this game was nothing short of an eye-opener for me. When I first heard of it, I was intrigued by the beauty of its pixel art, the complex yet addicting nature of its levels, and most importantly, the themes of letting go of your old self to climb the mountain of life conquering it with your own two hands. I didn’t realize it at the time, but a big part of why this game resonated so deeply with me is because, deep inside my soul, it cracked my inner shell and made me realize that I, too, was part of the LGBT community in some way. For that alone, this game will forever have my eternal gratitude. Celeste is a story about self-reflection, soul-searching, and sheer tenacity, and it ended up shaping a massive part of who I am, with me finally realizing in 2026 that I’m androgynous. Sonic Adventure was one of the first games I played in my childhood, back when all I had was a modded PS2 and a potato PC that would straight up shut down after trying to run GameCube games for more than 30 minutes LMAO. I’ve always been a die-hard DBZ fan, so growing up in the 2000s watching Flash goodies like Super Mario Bros Z and Sonic Final Fantasy X only made me fall even more in love with the blue blur himself. The Adventure games were my first legit experience with the hedgehog in official releases, because aside from that I mostly spent my time playing a Doom mod known as Sonic Robo Blast 2. It wouldn’t be until a few years later that I managed to get my hands on Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Heroes. Sonic, to me, represents a desire for freedom, an unstoppable force of nature, a hero of lightning speed who goes above and beyond against the forces of oppression, and that’s exactly why I admire this blue hedgehog so much Klonoa is a neat little series that’s found its way into my heart in recent years. For a long time, I adored his design and thought he was absolutely adorable, so when I finally had the chance to sit down and actually play his games, I was nothing short of amazed by the emotional complexity hidden within the series. She and Carl had been married for 67 years when he died in 2015 at age 100. They never had children, partly because their work required constant travel and Iris refused to let her children be raised by someone else. Instead, her influence reached millions who never met her. Young people found permission to dress boldly. Older people found permission to refuse invisibility. Everyone found permission to stop apologizing for taking up space. Iris Apfel lived to 102. For eight decades, she heard the world's narrow definitions of what fashion should look like, what women should look like, what aging should look like. Then she spent two extraordinary decades proving something the world desperately needed to see. Creativity has no expiration date. Beauty exists far beyond narrow standards. And the most revolutionary act any person can commit is refusing to shrink themselves for anyone else's comfort. The Silent Hill 2 remake is a triumph. It faithfully recreates the devastation of the original and confidently spices up the gameplay with improved combat and top-tier survival horror puzzles. It adds new encounters and character moments while never seeking to erase what has come before. Despite how good the remake is, I’d still recommend playing the original at some point. That is the beauty of what Bloober Team has achieved. Silent Hill 2 feels different from other video game remakes. It’s not trying to be the definitive edition of the original. It’s an interpretation of Team Silent’s 2001 masterpiece; a folk tale passed down to future generations, not by the fireside, but by a controller. The original Silent Hill 2 is a work of art: a snapshot of the PS2 era and early 2000s horror. If only Konami would get the memo and do whatever it takes to make the 2001 masterpiece readily available. Until then, thanks to Bloober Team, we can wait for it in our new special place.

Just talking about flat faced dogs with a friend (who's watching Crufts) and if you've not seen it, here's Hogarth and his pug. Hogarth looks a bit smug. I guess his art is a bit. But it's also very good imho.

Also his pug looks like it can breathe and its eyes might not fall out if it coughs.
How to describe a masterpiece? It's a self portrait of William Hogarth. I think he's wearing a sort of black fur cap, or he has shit hair. He's a white guy, clean shaven, wearing a red overcoat with a black jacket and a white shirt. He's visible from the belly up because he appears to be in an oval portrait within the painting. In front of the oval portrait (which is balanced on three books, just like my monitor) to the right is his pug dog. It's white. But also it doesn't have bulging eyes or a flat face, and probably doesn't sound like my dad snoring after he'd been to the pub. And to the bottom left is I think a wooden palette which has "the line of beauty" engraved or painted on it. There's a green bit of fabric which kind of wraps the painting and is visible mostly bunched up in the bottom left and to the top right. It's a painting, not Hogarth's often shown Engravings. It's really, really good. I worry this was far too long an Alt Text, so apologies if it was.
